DO NOT STAY HERE. Upon arrival the lady who was checking me in was incredibly rude. She did not have my reservation and wanted me to call to fix it. I showed her all receipts but she said she did not have it in the system and did not want to deal with the issue. We finally resolved the issue and I was extremely polite throughout the process. She then proceeds to put us in the back corner of the hotel where the exit gate did not lock. None of the rooms had proper hotel locks/ deadbolt locks on the doors which I thought was extremely unsafe. We get into the room and the cleanliness was okay but not the best. We leave for dinner and I go to pull out my ID and I realize she never gave it back to me after check in. I understand people make mistakes, and dinner was close, so I walk back to the hotel to get my ID. I did not receive any phone call, text message, or even a knock on my door to give it back. I approached her at the front desk and was barely acknowledged. I tell her she has my ID and she goes to the back and puts it on the counter. She claimed she tried to call me with the number on file but it didn’t work. I double checked the number and it was correct and explained she could’ve called again or texted. She was unapologetic about the whole situation and was dismissive. The next night, my friends and I were staying in the hotel room and we heard someone screaming. We were so terrified hid. We found out it was a domestic dispute. Pay the extra money and stay at a safe plac

My wife and I stayed here 2 years ago and it was OK. HOWEVER, we booked a room in the (supposedly) nicer North Tower, and it was terrible. They gave us Room 13. I'm not superstitious, but #13 was a bad sign. The room had AC, but AC is only AC if it works, which it did not, and the room was stuffy and sweltering. Only two small awning windows at ground level, which is useless unless your inviting rodents to a party. It was a long, miserable sleepless night. Also, it's not that difficult (or expensive) to change light bulbs and other small maintenance items. I recommend you cross this place of the list and take it out of contention.

The deluxe rooms are OK, it was nice to have a kitchenette. With the "modern" furnishing, though, they are not very comfortable (e.g. metal table and chair). The resort fee is unjustified, since the chairs, umbrellas, and towels at the pool require an extra fee, the parking is offered for a fee, and the continental breakfast might be the worst one I ever had (a couple of cheap pastries, 1-2 bagels, a few slices of bread, coffee and hot water). All these placed by the entrance, not a real breakfast area. Bottom line: not a resort, but with a quite pricey resort fee.

DO NOT STAY HERE. I was overcharged a $285 fee for my stay on 1/13/24. I was told while I was checking out the following morning that my guest had broken another room’s window two rooms down from where we were staying. They mentioned that they have video proof that it was my guest and that I would be charged an additional $250 fee. I said that I want to see the video proof before being charged and they agreed to send it to me. The following day I was not charged $250, but rather $285, and I never received anything from them besides a copy of my credit card receipt. It is now 3/2/24 and I’ve called 7 times to speak with a manager. Each time I’ve called I’ve spoken with someone from the front desk that’s taken my name and phone number, and says that they will pass my information on to a manager. I’ve never heard back from a manager. But I just now received a call back from the front desk person that I spoke with a few minutes ago and she said that they’re not going to go through the video footage and share it with me. She said that she personally saw it happen and that it’s in a police report. This is news to me… so I then said that I’d like a copy of this police report that they have outlining witness statements and she said she’d have to ask her manager and that he’ll get back to me. In the meantime, I will be reporting this hotel to the BBB and I will continue to post regular updates regarding this issue.

Love the kitchen and location to walk to the beach or check the tidal pools at Heisler Park. Availability of Trolly and bus transportation. Nice area to sit outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather.

The property was clean and quiet and in a great location close to the center of Laguna Beach. Loved Laguna Beach and would stay here again.

We were not impressed with our stay at 14 West Boutique Hotel, (North Side) 1. The website clearly states that the pool is heated, but it is most definitely not. We went on our first day with my 5 year old son who was so excited to swim, only to have to go back to our hotel room because the pool was ice cold. It would be good to update the site for accuracy. 2. Room needed some maintenance. One example: we used the fireplace every day during our stay and it never fully lit into a full fire, just tiny flames. 3. The door to the room is frosted glass, which makes it very bright in the room at night with the porch light on. There was not a switch to turn off the porch light, so we had to cover our eyes to try to fall asleep. I suggest adding a blind to the door or putting in a switch on the porch light. 4. The TV did not work at all upon arrival - just static. Someone had to come in and install a Roku. Why in the world wasn't this installed prior? 5. The Continental breakfast was honestly quite weak. It'd be helpful if there were cereals/milk/yogurt - or anything other than just stale pastries/apples/coffee. 6. Charging $5 for a beach towel seems ridiculous. 7. The walls are thin and you can hear every footstep of the guests next door. We did have a positive experience checking in though. Whoever worked that day was very courteous and helpful. The location is great - proximity to the beach and the Ralph's was a plus. In all, we feel a pretty disappointed after spending several hundred dollars for our stay. Earlier, I received an email from the hotel asking how my experience was, and sent all of this info to them - radio silence. So, here I am sharing it with the world instead!
