I was looking for a place to stay near Pepin, WI and came across this gem in Lake City, MN. I absolutely loved my stay at this charming motel. It was so clean, so peaceful and in a great location! The pool overlooks Lake Pepin and it was fully stocked with towels, great chairs, pool noodles and the water was warm and wonderful! The self check in was so cool and easy. There are neat towns to visit and the drive is easy and very lovely. I visited Pepin and saw Laura Ingalls Wilder's home, museum and the local cemetery where her first teacher is buried. I will visit again!

It was very low service. We had to text anytime we wanted to talk to someone also no ice or ice machines which is ridiculous in a motel.

Hello,
I just want to let everyone know that I highly recommend Sunset Motel. It’s a very lovely motel, everything better than expected. It has more of the HOTEL feel as the accommodations and communication were splendid. The front desk was so warm. The area is beautiful too. Awesome view of the lake! Highly recommended!

Wonderful stay at Sunset Motel!! Easy online check in. Quiet, clean, very comfortable bed. Absolutely gorgeous view of Lake Pepin. Will definitely be staying here again!!

I was initially drawn to this place because the price was right and the view was perfect. On our first night there we ran into an issue with the room next door. I reached out to the owners and they did not hesitate to correct it. I appreciated that. They are in the middle of doing lots of updates and it is looking good. The best part was the bed and pillows were great. That is always one of the most important parts of a hotel stay.
