I'll start by saying we had been here before and loved it. However, this time around, it was a nightmare. There were dead bugs in our room and spiders everywhere, which we kept killing. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, we were told that it was black fly season and nothing could be done, but they would send someone to clean the room. Unfortunately, no one showed up, despite me sending a photo of the inside of the room. We really didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but then the GM, Chris, called and said the outside was cleaned, then was very rude on the phone and refused to listen to what I had to say. She tried to justify the fact that the room never got cleaned, every possible way, and ended up hanging up on me, making it sound like we were the problem due to the bugs they refused to clean. It was a horrible experience with poor service. This could have been handled better. I don't recommend this hotel; if I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Fantastic weekend stay! Resort is renovated and they did a beautiful job. Saw the staff working hard every day, cleaning, maintaining. There is a security guard walking the grounds; you get a bracelet to wear to use the pool/bbq area. Did not go into the pool though, it looked cloudy. Plenty of kids were enjoying the pool. There are several buildings on the property. We stayed in building 2. It was on the second floor. If you can't go up and down steps be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor or in the building with the elevator. Heard almost no noise from other adjoining rooms. Room very comfortable with full kitchenette and two queen beds; even plates etc. in the cupboard. Slept well. Bedding is comfortable and new and fresh, including the pillows. No musty smell in the room like other hotels. Shower had great water pressure and was hot. Location is ideal right in the middle of town and perfect views of the lake. Restaurants on site. Did not get a chance to try them. Ample parking and an underground garage as well. I'd recommend this hotel! Many many families were staying here and everyone had smiles. That tells you the whole story.

I have been staying here with my family for four years running now! It has always been a wonderful place, up until this year. We arrived this year and booked a lake front suite. The person at the front desk was beyond rude and explained to me they had no more lake front rooms available. He was not apologetic and said it is what it is. I get to my room, dried bugs on the walls, floors barely clean, moldy smell in the rooms. Horrible. The Cabana bar is a wonderful accommodation as is the beachfront, although I was harassed daily for a bracelet as was my 8 year old daughter by a manager. Three days into my stay I called the front desk and asked for more toilet tissue to which they replied “room service is over, come and get it” and hung the phone up on me. I went down and the night shift worker behind the counter was one of the cruel hearted people I’ve come across. She rationed me toilet paper like it was World War 2, and gave me a single roll. My family and I will never stay at this place again. Managers and new management ruined it for us.

This is our second time visiting lake George and we were happy with our decision to stay at Surfside on the Lake. Our family loved the amenities- we were down in the pool and on the beach every day. My daughter also loved the playground. Though we brought our own paddle boards, it was nice to have the option to rent paddle boards and kayaks. The grounds were immaculate and I noticed quite a few staff members keeping up with resort cleanliness. The proximity to town is perfect and it makes for a nice evening walk instead of hopping in the car. we stayed in a premier 1st floor room with a balcony. It was spacious and clean with plenty of storage and comfortable beds. We brought our own snacks from home and it was very convenient to have the microwave and coffee maker in the room for popcorn and left overs. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony to have our coffee in the morning and snacks in the evening. My three year old cried when we told her vacation was over and she told me, “mommy, I don’t want to leave. I like this hotel.” We agree and we will be back in the future!

Beautiful hotel, restaurant perfect the waitstaff was excellent and the rooftop bar an cafe was beautiful. however parking is difficult where they should assign spots to accommodate each room had to drive around for 40 minutes and then parked in the street

I’ve got no complaint about the facilities. Room was ok- clean but basic. A typical “motel” type of room. The pool and beach again was nice. Great views of the lake. My complaint was that after checkout if your room you are not allowed access to pool or beach. In all my years of traveling to locations and resorts MUCH nicer than here, including the nearby Sagamore , you always were welcomed to use the facilities for the day. I just find this cheap and deceptive on their part. So buyer beware . For the price they ask… they are cheap.

Love this hotel! Super clean. Great amenities - private beach, heated pool, rooftop bar and playground for the kids. Front desk was super helpful, kind and professional. Can’t wait to stay here again!
