I believe this place needs a complete remodel. Price was a bit high for the quality of room/breakfast we received. I would love to know when a “Choice” manager has last seen this place. I realize they are in the middle of a transition, or so it appears. So drop the price and explain to people. I’m very surprised the Choice organization would allow this. The front desk was wonderful and pleasant. Not their problem.

I have been to this hotel a few years ago and enjoyed the atrium with pool and jacuzzi, but when I wanted to go back this year I was warned by the reception desk that these facilities have been torn down to make more bedrooms. It is unfortunate. So don't trust the pictures for this part.

The hotel is an older motel styled facility, but the rooms are large, access is easy, and all the facilities are clean. The hotel also has access to the lake with picnic table and chairs so one can enjoy a drink or a meal lakeside. The grab-and-go breakfast was better than most in this time of pandemic. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't your place, but, if you're looking for a pleasant night's stay, it is.

This is an older, simple motel in the process of converting to something fancier. It is clean and the mattress was very good. They did not clean the room each day but it was not a problem for us. They offer a grab and go breakfast but also have tables so you can sit comfortably. There is yogurt, cereal, pastries and breakfast sandwiches that you can heat. All are OK. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. She makes it a better experience as she seems to really care about the guests. There are not many inexpensive off season options so we would go back here again.

Among hotels in the under $100 price point, this hotel has the bare minimum I consider decent. The room was clean. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. The bathroom was clean and functional. Beyond that, there isn't much to add. I found the bed uncomfortable, but that just might be a preference. There was no charging station or USB port for a charger. There was no cell service, though that may be changing soon. Outside, you could tell that routine maintenance has been deferred. Parking is tight. The place could use an update.

Beware: THERE IS NO POOL OR HOT TUB OR HOT BREAKFAST. Most of the hotel has been knocked down and only the older section remains. The hotel is slated to re open in 2023 under a new name. We stayed in The Lakeside building and our room was very nice. It appeared clean and re-stocked. Although the water pressure was quite low we did have hot water. Our room overlooked the lake and we enjoyed the view. There was a set of steep wooden steps down to our room. For anybody with a mobility impaired guest this would have been an impossible set up for them. It snowed about six inches and the steps were never shoveled. Eventually we shoveled them ourselves. At no time did we see any hotel employees. As Choice Platinum members we certainly expected a better experience as we have stayed here numerous times in the past. Pick somewhere else to stay!

My expectations weren’t too high considering the price point - just wanted safe and clean. Room and decor very outdated, but I’m not bothered by that. The smell upon entry was repulsive, like the room hadn’t been opened in years. Pills and peanuts under the bed. Cob webs in the bathroom corner, peeling wall paper. We came back one afternoon after being gone for 8+ hours to our door open (mind you, these rooms open up directly to the parking lot). I made sure the door was latched firmly before leaving as well because the door struggled to close at all. I asked the cleaning lady, she said she had “absolutely not” gone into our room. Spoke with the manager, Kristin, the next day (she wasn’t in the day of the occurrence and the receptionist didn’t know when she’d be in again) and all she said was sorry. No exterior cameras or records of who was working that day to try and figure out who invaded our space. I honestly could have looked past all of it, but the invasion of privacy with no care from management is where they lost me. Completely unacceptable that they have no idea who entered our room and why. For your own safety, stay elsewhere.

Second time staying, but first time staying since the hilltop building was leveled. Very unfortunate. Snow removal ******. I live in New York, so I do understand snow removal. Damn near busted my butt walking the 20 feet or so to my room on the lower west side room. Speaking of which, my other party was on the upper east side room and there is NO way to safely walk to or from the office on the any incline here when temps drop. Any. Period. This building should have been torn down with the hilltop too. It’s old and worn. Really worn. Basic maintenance would’ve gone a long way to keeping this place 100%. Mattresses were a mixed bag. One of the rooms had 1 memory foam and 1 coil spring mattress. I know I didn’t sleep well at all. I need support for my lower back. During high winds and rain, the doors would not keep the water out of the room. Puddling is a good description. Drainage isn’t the best. The parking lot needs to be regrade. Another patron mentioned his floor took on enough water to complain about it. There is little to zero chance of seeing an improvement before this Quality Inn converts to Cambria in 2023. Pros. Staff was pleasant. Coffee was hot. Rates are affordable. Super unfortunate. I paid as much I paid in 2019 with no hot breakfast and no “room with a view” to offset the cons. I wanted to like my second experience but I’ll stay down the street.
