Room with Lake and Mountain Views - Tekapo

It's a single-story detached villa with a living room in the middle, complete with a fireplace (for charcoal) and a celestial telescope. Although we didn't use them, they created a wonderful ambiance. The rooms also have a quaint, antique feel. Every room in the villa is used as a guest room, and it is incredibly, incredibly clean. My reserved room had a lake view, but there was still some obstruction from the roof of the building in front. It was very convenient for stargazing; you could just slide open the door to the small backyard, or even go to the driveway in front of the main entrance, as there was no ground light. The bathroom was spacious, and check-in/check-out was entirely self-service, which was very flexible and convenient.

Facilities: There's a Nespresso machine, a decently sized fridge, and a heater. Cleanliness: Very clean. Environment: It was incredibly quiet at night, and the soundproofing was excellent. Service: Entirely self-service for check-in and check-out. It's a quick 3-5 minute drive to Lake Tekapo, and there are separate recycling bins in the yard. It would be even better if there were a few more trash bags in the room. The property has multiple parking spaces, which is super convenient. You can see the stars directly from the property at night. Unfortunately, it was a full moon during my stay, so no Milky Way.

Inflexible management, needs improvement.

Everything was self-service, so there were some confusing aspects, but the room had a nice view and was clean. There was also a shortcut that could be used on foot, so the access was very good. The hotel information on trip.com said that breakfast and luggage storage were included, but they weren't (it's possible that the staff just didn't know because there weren't any). The provided shampoo made my hair incredibly stiff, so I recommend bringing your own, but the body wash smelled very nice.
