Self check-in was a bit confusing at first; I even knocked on the wrong door. But once I got in, it was fantastic! You can stargaze right outside your door, and being able to cook your own meals really lets you experience small-town life. I'd love to stay a few more nights next time I get the chance.

The house was very clean and the outdoor scenery was lovely. Although there weren't any cooking utensils or a stove, there was a microwave, which was convenient for heating up bread. It's truly close to the Church of the Good Shepherd, just a 5-minute drive. Plus, the host was very quick to respond to my email asking about the self-check-in process before arrival. Highly recommended!

This property has a great environment. Right outside the room, there are tables and chairs where you can relax and enjoy the lake, watch the ducks, and take in the mountain views. It's also very convenient for stargazing at night. The room itself is clean and comfortable, and there's a dedicated parking spot. It's not far from the main Tekapo area. Overall, highly recommended.

The location is good, and while the room isn't huge, it's well-equipped and nicely decorated. It's a shame we couldn't relax outside due to the rain; I'd suggest adding an awning over the outdoor tables and chairs.

Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it was definitely the worst place we stayed during our New Zealand trip. Tekapo is super popular, and even booking four months in advance for over a thousand dollars a night, this was the best we could get. If possible, book half a year ahead during the off-peak season. This property is a whole holiday home divided into three apartments (A, B, C) for rent. Apartment A faces the lake, which is more like a small pond, but it does have ducks and wild rabbits. The view is pretty average by New Zealand standards. It's also a 15-20 minute walk to the town center's Four Square supermarket, which can be tiring if you have a lot of luggage and no car. The soundproofing in the room is really bad; we had noisy neighbors all night. The most ridiculous thing is that there isn't a single usable table or chair inside the room. The only option is the outdoor patio furniture, but it was raining when we were there, so we couldn't use it anyway. Plus, the neighbors' kids were ill-mannered and stepped all over it, so I doubt anyone would want to eat there. Even more outrageous, the water pressure in the bathroom was almost nonexistent. You'd get better pressure from a garden hose! The bathroom itself is quite spacious, but that's pointless. The Wi-Fi is shared among the three apartments, and you have to stand in a specific spot in the room to get a good connection. Customer service communication is old-school email, but at least they reply once a day. The most chilling part was on check-out day: the key safe outside had been tampered with; someone had pressed the code. I distinctly remember scrambling the numbers. Oh well, luckily there was no key inside. If you can accept all these points, then this room is perfect for you.
