Haka House Hostel Lake Tekapo

The scenery and location are fantastic; Lake Tekapo is right outside the door, and it's just a few minutes' walk to the supermarket or Intercity bus station. The room was decent with all the basic amenities. The hostel's common facilities are great, with board games, a TV room, and a well-equipped communal kitchen.

This hostel is super convenient, right near the intercity bus stop. The views are absolutely stunning! I even met a Chinese tour guide who gave me some great tips about attractions on both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. I'll definitely be back in the summer!

Right by the lake, with a communal kitchen. Tekapo is truly stunning with its lake and starry skies! Absolutely delightful! The hostel is small and cozy. I feel like I'd stay here again if I get the chance!

This place is great for backpackers and self-drivers. The common areas are spacious, and the kitchen and lounge are well-maintained, making it easy to cook and socialize. It's very close to Lake Tekapo, and perfect for stargazing. While the facilities aren't luxurious, it's clean and comfortable overall, and I'd definitely recommend it for an overnight stop.

I arrived before check-in time as I came by Intercity bus from Queenstown, and they let me check in right away! They also stored my luggage after check-out!! The location was really great, and the view was absolutely amazing. The weather was good, so I got to see the stars and the Milky Way to my heart's content for both nights!! Fantastic!

This hotel had an excellent location. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise from my room in the morning. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but no other amenities.

The only minor drawback was the hot water heater in the communal kitchen, which was located right above the sink. Other than that, everything was satisfactory. The scenery was beautiful, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the environment was very well maintained.

The environment is great, right by the lake. The kitchen offers direct views outside, and it's very close to the bus stop – you step off the bus right at the entrance. It's super convenient even without a car.
