Hampton Inn & Suites Lake Wales

First thing to tell is the Cleanness!! This hotel isn’t any newer at all, but every corner of the room was cleaned well. The room was spacious and quiet that you don’t hear sound of other guests at all once you go in the room. It was a worth of paying for all what they offer.

Hotel is a little dated, owner needs to spritz it up a little. Heater wouldn't get warm and it was a cold night. Desk chair wobbled and was worn out. Staff blurted out my name and room number which is not protocol.

My one night stay was uncomfortable. The front desk was helpful and pleasant but I had to change rooms due to the air conditioning, the room smelled bad as well. The second room had perfectly made beds and linen but the coffee maker was so dirty that I would not use it, long black hair in the shower on the dispenser, smears of food on the walls, mold in the shower. I did not have time to notify the desk because I had to leave at 3am.

Our experience was subpar. The toilet was loudly and constantly leaking and we were told that since it was the weekend and they had no extra rooms, “there is nothing we can do.” The room was musty and smelled of mold. Turning the AC down low helped with the mustiness and we got used to the smell. There was no courtesy shown by Suehealey at the Front Desk. “It is what it is” was the attitude. At one point, we could hear the maid’s walkie-talkie loud in the hallway through our door; it was someone else complaining about a plumbing problem. We asked to speak to the manager and were told she would report the problem to the manager. We were never contacted and when we checked-out in-person, mentioned the problem again and the woman said only that the toilet would be fixed. Breakfast staff was very nice.

Rooms are old and need a refresh, it wasn't bad when i stayed 2 years ago, the property is not showing well, chairs in the breakfast area stained and looks like they have never been cleaned, i asked for peanut butter for my toast and was told they don't have that. coffee machine is the premix bag in a box type and dispenses with a push of the botton and hot water is mixed into the cup with liquid coffee concentrate, no one changed out the concentrate, lucky there is a dunkin donuts across the street. after the third night, i asked for my room to me cleaned, the lady on the counter ( morning shift) told me, well you are leaving tomorrow, why do you need a cleaning? ( i'm like what?) because the floor is dirty! anyways, they made the bed, left some soap on the sink counter with some trash bags, yep, they didn't empty the trash! If you are on a budget, then i guess the price is good, but for a bit more money, book a place that will at least clean the floor and empty the trash. you get what you pay for.

Staff was nice. Check in went smooth. Room was clean and the bathroom was pretty big too. Breakfast was good as well with a good selection. The bed itself was comfortable if a little squeaky. I would recommend bringing your own pillows though as the ones at the hotel weren’t that firm. But overall I would stay again

Do not stay here! This whole hotel should not be called a Hampton Inn. Trash in the parking lot (ear cleaners, food), no landscaping, dirty carpet, our potty ran and had to jiggle handle to stop the running. The most uncomfortable beds. We are checking out early to get out of here. I am not super picky, but this is no Hampton Inn. This is disgustingly dirty and unkept. The front desk lady this morning was not pleasant at all. Sorry we stayed here.

Staff seemed fine, but I'll never use ******* again. When I originally searched for hotels ******* showed a different rate for this hotel of $126/nt but ended up charging me $141. Ridiculous!!! Never again will I fall for the bait and switch of *******! Even called customer service and they "said" they couldn't do anything. Just list the correct rate when people search and you won't have this problem!!!
