Extended Stay America Select Suites - Denver - Lakewood South

DO NOT BOOK HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A PET!! MY DOG AND I ARE BLESSED TO BE ALIVE! I previously stayed at this hotel and had a pretty great experience, especially when it came to the staff. However, I take it all back. If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars, I would. My 12lb dog and I were both attacked by a pit bull who was also staying at the hotel with it's owner. My dog was leashed and we were in the elevator of the hotel about to check out. We were on the second floor attempting to bring the hotel cart to my room so that I could load it up and then check out. As the elevator door was closing, a pit bull - with no collar, no leash, no harness, absolutely nothing on it - ran in and went straight for my dog. I started SCREAMING for help and trying to separate the dogs but we were trapped in that tiny elevator. Witnesses said that they could hear me screaming but couldn't find me. After a few minutes of screaming for help and trying to save my dog, I was able to get all of us out of the elevator where I continued to scream for help because this dog would NOT leg go of my dog and kept attacking both of us. It took another few minutes for help to finally arrive. The damage? The dog bit me in my arms, hands and FACE multiple times. It narrowly missed biting my neck - the bites were right above my jugular. My pup? It mauled my dog almost to death. There was blood everywhere - all over me, my dog, the elevator, the hallway, and the floor. If it wasn't for an incredibly kind stranger (who was also a guest at the hotel) who threw me and my dog into his truck and drove us to a nearby vet hospital and my being able to afford her surgeries and treatment, my dog would have died. This all happened due to PURE NEGLIGENCE on behalf of both the hotel and the owner. Apparently this dog had escaped its room numerous times before AND confirmed by hotel staff and later witnessed by myself and my cousin when I went to collect the rest of my things - other dogs also tend to roam around the hotel without their owners direct supervision on a regular basis. IF I HAD KNOWN THIS - I NEVER WOULD'VE BOOKED THE HOTEL. The hotel was aware that dogs were being left unsupervised on the property. The hotel never asked for proof of vaccinations, registration or anything. They also allow aggressive breeds. I still never received actual confirmation that the pit bull had all its shots which required me to complete a full cycle of rabies vaccinations, which are extremely painful. They have to inject you inside your open wounds, the surrounding areas and you need multiple shots. Because of this hotel and this owners negligence, my dog and I have been subjected to painful and intense treatments, ER bills for both of us, my dog now has permanent injuries that she will never recover from.... as far as the emotional, I have been having panic attacks, she cries and panics anytime a large or black dog comes near us. Her separation anxiety is through the roof. I couldn't cudd

The room they gave us was filthy unfortunately. There was a case of beer still in the cabinet facets, door nobs, surfaces, chairs, bed sheets, were all smudged up. I cleaned for two hours apon my arrival. Also, on the inside of our front door was the outline of a cross with condensation dripping down from it. Considering ALL of the walls had lines down them dripping from the ceiling which is a well known sign that there is mold.. The staff was definitely keeping an eye out on the place. You can clearly see they're efforts to ween out the hooligans and then the place around. I just wish I didn't feel so disgusting while staying in the rooms. 😑

One word Nasty!!! Floors had black crud that blackened yourfeet, no soap, tub dirty, smelled of old smoke, had to pay to have towels, chairs stained with cigarette burn holes, Furniture and countertops looked like they were picked up from the local thrift store. It was still 130 a night.

Great customer service clean rooms great experience over all with amazing view amazing atmosphere and a great place to stay while in town

This was a excellent stay! Such incredibly clean rooms and facilities, staff was so friendly. Haleigh was incredibly professional during my stay both in ensuring my room was clean and with local recommendations!

Friendly helpful stuff clean rooms and quiet. Any issue they took care of in a timely manner and management is always available for the guests .

I stay at this hotel often. The service is always friendly, and helpful. That is the main reason I return. I literally can't say enough about the staff here. Also, The view in the front of the hotel is amazing, and it's close enough to Denver or the BEAUTIFUL foothills, that the location is perfect. Downtown Golden and Red Rocks amphitheater are very close as well. I don't need to take my chances anywhere else. This is my Denver area first choice for a bed.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again
