Newport Wales (M4, J24)

Paper thin walls and a ceiling that bounces when the people above walk around. 2am fire alarm which the receptionist didn’t seem to know what to do. Doors slamming and people talking in the main corridor through the night. Fair to say that I had very little sleep and will never ever stay here again.

Great little premier inn - super friendly & helpful staff, easy parking, clean & modern rooms, good food at the Beefeater next door, good location & easy access and quiet at night, even on a weekend.

This trip from Filey to Newport 211 miles was a basic journey requiring a pretty basic hotel. This hotel provided most of that. Cost was room only! Breakfast was extra at quite an expensive cost! We tried Continental and full English. Both were ok but have had better! The full English had been sat under lights for quite a while and had partly dried out. Like I said it was ok but not great. Reasonable selection on the continental food, toaster was poor! Had to put the bread through about 4 times! The free Wi-Fi is terrible ( many people said so) very weak and kept dropping out. Had a few issues at the hotel but staff very quickly sorted it out. Cost at restaurant (Beefeater, adjoining) was quite expensive for evening meals. Parking was ok, make sure you register your car as it’s camera controlled. But like all car parks spaces are the 70s size too narrow for todays bigger cars! Overall-OK!

Great location for what I needed. If possible get a room on the second floor and I advise you take your own loo roll as the toilets have a manual sheet dispenser type of holder. Food had plenty of choice and no need to book a table if staying in the bar area to eat. Definitely book a table if visiting on a Thursday evening/night as the local rugby lads and lasses will be in at about 8pm after training and the bar will get crowded. Its a nice central spot to break up a journey.. approx 2 hours to London 2 hours to Bournemouth 2 hours to north Wales 2 hours to Fishguard ferry port I have stayed before and will again.

We had a perfect stay at this hotel. The beds are so comfortable we didn’t want to leave. The room was very clean and all the staff including the cleaning team were so helpful and welcoming. Rooms were warm but the window did open. We had dinner at the beefeater which is just across the road and the food was good.

staff are very accomodating abd lovely. Room is clean and beds are comfy. we had a nice sleep, undisturb despite it is on the M4.

Another good stay at this hotel for a work conference. Staff helpful and room clean and spacious. The only issue was the room was very warm, but the staff provided me with a fan which was appreciated and advised me to put iced water in-front of the fan which did help. Food at the restaraunt was good and staff very accommodating
