VIET TRUNG HOTEL

Booked through the app, but was told upon arrival that there were no rooms available.

The environment and hygiene were quite good, and it even came with a smart toilet, which was a pleasant surprise! The only minor downside was that my room didn't have a window.

Stayed here on a solo trip. There was some confusion with the location as Google Maps showed it differently from the website, but Google was correct. The facilities were exceptionally clean, including the bathroom. The amenities were plentiful, and I was especially impressed by the powerful hairdryer. The hotel's location is excellent, close to the market and the border. It's a quiet area, but not deserted, so I felt safe. This was the best hotel of my entire trip. I'd love to stay here again if I ever come back to Lao Cai. By the way, it was around 2200 yen per night.

I found very few dining options in Lao Cai, including near the hotel. Eventually, I found one small eatery by the river boulevard with limited choices. It did offer a beautiful view of the border crossing into China. I stayed here for one night for a visa run from China.

I stayed there to have a package delivered, and when I arrived, I had to figure out where it was myself, only to find out it had never been delivered. The female staff were rude and didn't speak a word of English. On the other hand, the room was beautiful.

The room was fine, everything was clean. My only complaint is the bed was very hard, but apparently, that's normal in Vietnam.
