Staff was so helpful and kind. They offered solid dinner recommendations for while the in house cafe was closed. Rooms were clean and stocked with supplies. The hotel itself is beautiful and rich with history, along with the plaza park and surrounding buildings.

Lovely historic hotel. Our room was in the annex next door (still historic) and was quite large. I think the mattress was a Tempur-pedic - very comfortable. Limited parking behind the hotel or on the Plaza can be an issue if you have a lot of luggage (like 2 sisters do). We found the residential areas with historic homes but were surprised that they were not kept up. Not much happening here. The town could use some TLC and investment to attract tourism.

Staff “can’t tell wether just ignorant or not bothered”. Went to check in stood for 10 mins whilst staff member finished her conversation. Got the key to room and had to go fetch cleaner to enter and smell the Oder is as smelling she left to return with a liquid to refresh the air. No coffee facilities in room I was advised their is a cafe downstairs. Towels had a stale stench with paint flaking in the bathroom. The main room mirror was thick with dust with the bed sheet on inside out. Check out was the same with a blank looked staff member “ just leave the key in the bowl”. Give this place a miss

We are halfway through a road trip around Texas and New Mexico. We have stayed in modern hotels, a caboose, a cabin and roadside motels, this is by far the worst experience. I understand it's an historical hotel but our room, 217, was shabby. We had to ask for air freshener because of the smell in the room. There isn't any coffee making facilities despite the booking details stating there was. When we asked at reception we were told coffee and tea is available downstairs between the hours of 5am and 7am, after that you pay for it. The details on the booking site are wrong. Minimal toiletries provided, towels are as old as the hotel. We've stayed in older hotels before but they have been clean and refreshed, this is very tired. Only one bulb working in bathroom, fridge is inadequate, plug sockets don't work. Generally very disappointed. Needs a good clean, mirror in room is dusty, fan is the same. Outlook from 217 is dire. Definitely not worth the money. It's also very noisy with people above just walking around their room. Do not recommend. Las Vegas itself is rundown and not worth visiting. It's worth noting if you use your card to purchase anything there is a 3% charge on top!!

This is a comfortable place. The plaza has big trees. The interior is carpeted. Mostly blue. It is a clean place. The room was less colorful. The windows were nice and tall. Bathroom was painted white. A lot of books everywhere throughout the hotel.

Wonderful staff and location! Highly recommend a plaza view. It is an old, historic hotel with lots of character. It is not a modern, new built building so be aware if you are looking for that. No in room coffee maker or fridge. Room was spacious with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Las Vegas NM Plaza. Had a great time watching the families and dog walkers there. Women traveling alone, felt very safe in hotel and wondering the area. The kind reservation, front desk, bar and maintenance staff went far out of their way to make our stay fabulous! Had fun ghost hunting with other guests in the hall ways (they have a friendly ghost). We will definitely return!

As an huge fan of both old hotels and Sheriff Walt Longmire, an overnight here on our way to Carlsbad Caverns fit the bill. I was so kindly welcomed by Aaron at the front desk and was pleasantly surprised that our room was ready at 2PM. We were in 320, a very large king with a plaza view. Clean in every way with comfortable bedding. A bit of noise from below as guys drove their loud vehicles around the plaza but the showing off did not last too late. If you think it might bother you, wear earplugs! Old hotels have squeaks and a few quirks, but that is the charm I love. If you are also a Longmire fan, stop in at the Plaza Antiques on the corner, just a few doors from Walt’s office. The owner will gladly tell you a lot about when the series was being filmed in LV.
