First things first: the scenery outside the balcony is very good. The staff had a great attitude. What follows is all bad. I have never seen a five star hotel with such bad hardware. From the moment we entered the room, the room smelled like sewerage. Even if the water pressure is low when taking a shower, the point is that there is no hot water! ! ! There was no hot water at night in the desert in November, and there was no handheld shower. The cool "warm water" pouring down on my head really woke me up from the cold. Then after washing, I was going to blow dry my hair. The hair dryer was still stained with a lot of hair left by previous guests... The wind from the balcony leaks in at night ~ plus the cold water from the shower ~ this is probably how it feels when the northwest wind blows ~ In short, apart from being clean, close to redrock, and having hospitable staff, this hotel feels like a dream back to junior high school military training...

It's okay. Some rooms are a lot older than others. Service needs some work. We stayed at the JW Marriott in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving in November. I booked a studio suite and I requested an upgrade through Marriott using my suite upgrade allocation. It should have put me in a one bedroom. The day before I arrived, I received an email telling me I could upgrade to a one bedroom for $60 per night. I replied back that I had requested the upgrade using my suite nights allocation. They should be able to confirm it at no cost. I did not receive a reply. When I arrived at the hotel, they tried to tell me that I needed to pay them $60 per night for my existing room. They then determined this was incorrect. When they gave me the room key, they told me that they had used my suite upgrade. I went to the room only to find that it was the studio suite that I had originally booked. I went back to the desk where they figured out that I should be in a one bedroom. They checked me in again and sent me to a different tower. It was a one bedroom. The suite was large but definitely worn and dated. It was clean but the room had no personality. The food at the hotel is just not great. We ate at their coffee shop twice. The iced tea was horrible. It was from a tap. The food was sub par. If you stay at this hotel, use delivery or go out to eat.

This was a great place to stay!! My reservation started on the 15th because my flight was cancelled 10 hours before my flight time. The cancellation notice was sent to me by text after midnight and I did not see until I woke up at 7:00am. I had to pay for the room on the 15th anyway. The staff was so friendly and helpful and I do not blame the hotel. Anyway, I will make my reservation directly to the hotel next time and purchase the insurance with the reservation.

This property has seen better days. Needs a total remodel. We checked out after a couple days and moved to the Four Seasons.

It’s nice that the hotel is far from the *****. It’s quieter and still pretty lively. Our hotel room was nice but a bit dirty. The glass on the tables were dirty, the floors were dirty. Upon serving the hotel’s outer appearance is also not the best. I immediately thought “where did we end up??” The outside definitely needs more cleanliness. The valley guys were incredible nice. The check in and check out was fast! Overall it was a good stay.

I booked JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort through AARP/*******. Morning of arrival I checked in through Marriott app. Marriott location later that morning sent me an email that they canceled reservation because credit card did not go through. I remembered that I put card “ on hold” because I had left it at a restaurant. Called Marriott right away to give them a different card. They refused to restore the reservation. Said it was my fault for booking with AARP/3rd party! Said they were overbooked. Then they lied to me claiming it was *******’s fault for canceling. ******* told me it was pay at hotel and they did not cancel. My cancellation notice came from front desk of Marriott and my credit card company verified it was Marriott that tried to charge my card. I spoke with two managers including “Meisha” and I was totally disrespected. All this while I was in the midst of driving to that Marriott for check in. What if I had not stopped for breakfast and saw the email?! No call or text??? I am a Marriott frequent traveler for over 40 years and I get stranded and end up finding another hotel at a much higher rate. Marriott will no longer be my hotel of choice. TERRIBLE!
