It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was affordable. They need to invest in upgrading the doors, the main door was difficult to open and close. The toilet was stuck running when i arrived, but did not do it again after i fixed it. The noise was the biggest issue. Left the fan in the room on to drown out hallway noise but it clicked so loudly and randomly that it would wake me up. Had to use a pillow to cover my ear to get any sleep.

The hotel staff was great. The hallways smelled like smoke. The locks on the door were odd. Not the key lock but the deadbolt had to be turned real hard to get to latch and then it kept slipping. Oh, and they charge you $9 to park in their parking lot that is filled with potholes. The room was clean and updated.

The decor was nice and the entire facility was clean and well maintained.
All of the staff was very friendly and very helpful, especially the young lady that checked us in.
Only complaint is that you charge for parking. Just charge a higher rate and be done with it. Sneaking in fees just seems bush league to me.

I am a loyal Marriott member for many years and have stayed at several properties for business and pleasure. With that in mind, I have stayed at all Marriott Brands in various cities. I rarely need to write a less than satisfactory review as my stays are consistently up to Marriott brand standards regardless if I stay at a Fairfield or Renaissance. This location is not at Marriott standards. The most troubling part of my stay was security not addressing children running down the hallways at 11 pm at night. This location is located on a part of town that has crime. The lack of security seems concerning to me. The breakfast buffet is comparable to Fairfield and should be free. The lobby is awful with weird statues and a large enclosed room with more statues, stained carpet, and running water. I would close that room off to the public as it isn't attractive.

This is a very nice hotel. I would not stay here again though because I feel they are deceptive. I was asked to provide a credit card for "incidentals." I am always careful not to use any chargeable items / services. After I left, they billed my credit card additional money. I called the hotel and they said it was a parking fee. I told them no one said anything about a parking fee, it is not in any of the papers I signed, and there is no sign in the lot that says it cost money to park there. I called the hotel to complain, they said it is their policy and they could not do anything about it.. I would have been ok with the charge if they had made it clear when I checked in. I might have chosen to park on the street. I don't like them being sneaky about it.
