A gem of a pub with rooms. We booked for a family birthday and had the most relaxing time in beautiful surroundings. The rooms were all lovely, welcoming, warm and well designed. The pub itself was superb - well kept Guinness and beer, fab wines, lovely food and a great atmosphere. We felt incredibly welcomed and enjoyed dinner on both nights. The owners and staff really couldn’t do enough for us. A few of the group had special dietary need (vegetarian and gluten free) and the team couldn’t have done more to cater for them - we were so impressed. A hidden gem, worth a drive and we’ll be back!

Just been to the Dovecote inn this afternoon for Lunch. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the owner was very welcoming. For anybody wanting proper home cooked food this pub is a little gem. Thank you for everything today, we will be returning again very shortly.

We stayed at the Dovecote the night before a zero-carbon housing masterclass at the nearby Hockerton Housing Project. It was ideal. Sam is a great host and was happy to open the cosy pub up for us for one of the excellent on-tap craft beers after a long journey, even though it was officially closed as it was a quiet November evening. The rooms are super spacious and comfortable, but also with oodles of character. With very reasonable prices, the Dovecote offers a much more luxurious experience than you might expect. The pretty village and it's unique history is an added bonus.

I always like to give an honest critique of where we have stayed (this is clear if you see my reviews on previous restaurants etc) I want to applaud Sam and his Team on the following; Customer Service was sublime from the moment we arrived to check in, to bar service and dining. The quality of food was excellent, even the garlic bread, although a simple side order was very good. I would recommend asking about the specials on the day, my Wife had the Goats Cheese Pie which was one of the best 👌 . There is a level businesses need to meet when it comes to Customer Service, Sam meets and surpasses this with his attentive service and attention to detail. If you're looking for a Country Inn that offers good food and accommodation, which is close to so many attractions, you wont go wrong booking here. I would to take this opportunity to thank Sam and his Team for a wonderful stay an meal. We wish you all the best for the future and hope to call in again in 2023.

We a (group of 6 friends) enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch. Food delicious and plentiful, hot and well presented. Staff very very friendly and efficient. Sam was in attendance and made us all feel very welcome. Nice to see a few well behaved pooches. We will certainly return. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Dovecote Inn on Saturday 17th September 2022 with by mother and father in law for a special occasion. I was apprehensive as, whilst I hadn't previously visited the Inn, my in-laws had a few years ago and were extremely disappointed with their visit. I was aware that the Inn was now under new management, it was close to where my relatives live and we had heard good things since Sam Harrison took over as landlord. We were not disappointed, in fact, we were delighted and couldn't have had a better experience. The food quality was superb (fish and chips, chicken and mushroom pie and chicken schnitzel were our choices) The table was in a lovely part of the Inn and Sam's personal service touch was superb. We highly recommend the Dovecote Inn. Jamie Blake

We stopped off in Laxton to see the fascinating church (which is opened every day) and find out about the ancient field system. The pub was very welcoming and quickly served us the most delicious fish and chips with mushy peas. Our dog was made welcome too. We thoroughly recommend a visit to this delightful village and it’s excellent pub.
