The staff was overworked and so difficult to find when needed. It took 15 minutes to find the actual hotel because they closed its primary entrance and redirected entry through one of its partner hotels. After walking around and around and being ignored by a number of the staff, we then had to wait for over 40 minutes for someone to appear at reception to check in. To be fair, once the staff did show up, there were several nice individuals, but I think they were extremely overworked. Because it was so late we opted to eat in one of their restaurants and had the same issue, waiting almost 40 minutes to order and then even longer for the meal to be served. When finally we checked in, to get to the room, one had take our bags we had just brought up back down the stairs, leave the building, mount a second larger stair, walk around the back of the building, go down two flights of stairs, enter another door and then up two more flights of very narrow, circular stairs with all our bags. We were offered no help from the staff. I'm pretty sturdy but still, this was a lot of work. If you're older, I'd say this is just not possible. When we got to the room, it was very tight. I like small spaces, but this was extreme, especially for the price. For my wife to get to the bathroom at night, it was impossible to do without bumping into me and waking me up. The seagulls roosting on the roof right outside the window were insane and did not stop squalling until 2-3 in the morning, and then up again around 5 in the morning. I could have tolerated some of this, but for the price, it was just too much. St. Michel is a spectacular place but so thick with tourists it becomes almost impossible to appreciate. The food is horrible everywhere and one can tell everyone who works there is just tired of dealing with tourists. I would not recommend staying on the island at all, but for anyone who really wants to give it a go I would say so not even think of staying more than 1 day.

Le Mouton Blanc

Le Mont-Saint-Michel|0.14km from Porte de l'Avancee
We stayed in room 308, views from both our windows were INCREDIBLE! We got the evening shuttle bus, which wasn’t too bad. It was full but not overpacked like during the day. The tourist office was east to find who had our key, spoke English so winner. It was very difficult to find out annexe . It was pouring with rain and with two kids in tow and still very busy on the streets , my husband left us in a doorway whilst he went to seek it out. Low and behold he found it and it was not where you think it would be!! Needs better signs 100%. Anyway once we were inside, I mean it’s a very basic , small room. Bathroom is teeny & there’s not enough space to swing a cat however for us it was ideal as all we needed was a bed to sleep in for the night. It was clean , and although it’s pricey it’s definitely not a 5star hotel quality , that was the only downside but most of the hotels seem the higher price on st michel. It was incredibly busy around 5pm so I dread to think what it would be like during the day. But the best time to go is in the evening. The crowds had gone and it was magical. We explored the grounds , had some food at auberge Saint Pierre (it was gross & staff were rude) got some beautiful pictures , and took it all in. We heard what I assume was the nuns singing in the evening and then got woken up at 8am by the bells ringing . Breakfast at the hotel was good, it was all a bit mish mash and seemed disorganised but we got the hang of it in the end and really enjoyed it

We had the most perfect stay here! We booked a ”Bay View Logis” room, which entails walking a ways uphill and up stairs from the hotel itself, which is fairly close to the entrance to the island. They were very open about this on their website so we were expecting it. It was very much worth the walk! The bay view room actually had a large patio, which was so unbelievably special to have. We could look out over the city and watch the tide come in and out. When we look at photos of Mont St-Michel, we can easily spot our patio. The room was quite small but worth it for the patio. There is no air conditioning, which for us meant leaving the windows open at night, which meant being kept up by the incessant squawking of all the gulls. But it was all well worth it to be on Mont St-Michel, and a wonderful experience overall. They will even bring breakfast to your room, which was quite thoughtful considering what a hike it was from the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful.

There are some good things and some bad things about this place. The location is convenient to the shuttle over to Mont St Michel, and is also one of the closest hotels, which is helpful if you make the long walk there or back. The room was also decent, as was the breakfast. That said, the hotel did not send the parking access code in advance so I had to call to get it - and when I did the person suggested we'd likely be able to get into our room early, however when we arrived, the staff refused to let us do so, and didn't even want to hold our bags (and we know the hotel had only been open for 1 night after a month+ closure, so doubt the room was even full at the time). Also, it was very loud - we heard people going up and down the stairs all night long.

Appears to be the only 4 star hotel in the hotel row in Mont St. Michel. The rooms have been renovated and are large enough by European standards and are comfortable Check in and checkout is efficient especially if you did it online, staff are friendly and helpful but lacking a smile to make it better. Hotel does not have an elevator, hence you need to haul your suitcases up the steps if you end up on 1st floor Breakfast is served in Le Pre Sale restaurant next door and for dinner reservations are strongly recommended

Parking - the directions were a little confusing for a first-timer, but the hotels nearest Mont Saint Michel are blocked off to the public and you need to use a code to access this area. Once in the blocked off area, it is easy to find Hotel Vert and park in the hotel parking area. Quad room - fine. Our room was all beds and not much else, but it worked for the one night we spent there. We walked to the provided shuttle that took us to Mont Saint Michel - which made the stay even more worth it. Breakfast the next morning in the hotel was pleasant if not memorable. Same with the staff. Pleasant. I would stay here again.

This hotel has a great location. The position and evaluation are very good, and the staff are very helpful. When I had a small problem, they quickly solved it and made sure I was completely satisfied.
