We have been staying exclusively at Hampton for several years, which led me to just book the room in Lebanon without reading reviews. The staff at the desk were wonderful. Even though I had checked in through the app, the digital key hadn’t activated, so we stopped and visited with Renee. We looked over the breakfast area, then headed to our room: 323. The elevators are amazing. You don’t even know you’re moving. While the scent in the hotel wasn’t bad, it wasn’t the pleasant and clean scent we’re used to, and there are places where the carpet is torn and/or bare. The first thing we noticed in the room was the chair. The kind of chair I love, comfortable to snuggle into. BUT… this one had multiple stains all over it. It was kinda gross. I started to pull the seat cushion up and look further, but then thought that I didn’t want to know. There is a round table next to the chair. One of the legs was tucked up under it — it’s apparently broken. Hubby sat in the desk chair and almost fell backward out of it. The chair is broken. The only way he was able to sit in it was to push it back against the cabinet so that it couldn’t fall back. I didn’t investigate further, but after walking on the carpet, the tiles of the foyer and bathroom were sticky. There is an odd stain on the side of the mattress - I didn’t see that until this morning. The heat works very well! The bathroom? If all you look at is the sink area, you’re good. If you look at the floor, you’ll see that dirt has built up. In the shower (love that it’s a shower and no tub) I had the hot water turned all the way on with no cold water added. Once in the shower, the water would become a trickle for a few moments, then back up to flow. It would fluctuated between hotter than it started to cooled off to lukewarm. We reported the broken desk chair and the stained living room chair at the front desk as we left.
