Basically, the hotel's price-performance ratio is good, the rooms are OK but nothing more. The wellness area needs to be improved. The restaurant is mostly good to very good, the service is sometimes a bit chaotic. Now for the big downside. We had booked half board for our 2 double rooms/2 nights at a price of €42 per person per evening. So we were served a 3-course surprise menu on both evenings. A look at the menu showed that it would be around €10 cheaper if you ordered the same dishes a la carte, even if you add the cover charge there is still a significant price difference. We pointed this out when we checked out and then had to have a really unpleasant discussion, which was essentially characterized by denying any responsibility and not being willing to deal with complaints objectively. The receptionist obviously didn't really understand what was actually going on, but tried to justify it with "top class". The boss initially denied any responsibility at all, tried to shift the blame to the restaurant, said "we have to look into it", occasionally talked about hair-splitting (with a "dispute value" of around €80), and generally gave the impression that he did not want to deal with it. I then got a menu from the restaurant and we worked it out together, finally the boss then consulted the kitchen and ultimately admitted that it was a mistake - but he was still unable to offer a sincere apology and continued to evade the issue. In the end the receptionist, who incidentally became inappropriately loud at times, offered us a discount of €40, which we accepted with gritted teeth. The quality of the kitchen has noticeably declined. We were there a year ago and the food really impressed us then, but this time it was no longer really excellent, it was "just" good. There will definitely not be a third time.
