Spotless rooms with very nice toiletries. Only negative issue was the service in the reception. Hardly any smiles, you do not get a feeling that you are welcomed. I received a wrong invoice with a name of another customer when I rented a bike. However, the bike rental is otherwise very easy and the bikes are a good quality. If the weather allows I recommend to cycle to your destination. Excellent breakfast with a variety of gluten free and vegan options. You may also have a custom-made omelet.

Great hotel, nice employee, fantastic service, phenomenal experience. I stayed there with a friend for a week, each day we left the hotel at the morning/noon before 11 am. Afterwards we got a cleaned room with new bathtubs and also the kitchen was refilled. The personal was cool. Would like to stay a bit longer

After reading the various negative reviews (after booking my trip!) I was mildly apprehensive about my stay here for a number of nights. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel very clean, although the check-in process was a time-consuming.mThe room iI was given was small but quite acceptable for my needs and quite clean. Once up in the room, I tried to call down to reception to clarify a minor issue. They ignored my calls. I rang 3-4 times over a period of 20-30 minutes, on one attemnpt, letting it ring for up to 10 minutes. No answer. I eventually found the information I needed in the small info-sheet after looking carefully. The next day, taking a day off from business, I wanted to stay in my room to write emails and so on, so I put out the 'please make up my room now sign at 8 am and went out for breakfast. There were 4 or 5 people in housekeeping on the floor, who, through the course of the day as I came and went, they, seemed have decided they should be doing every single room EXCEPT mine. I has to go to to reception again around lunch time as I found my key disabled. It took the gentleman on reception 25 minutes (I time this) just to be able to create me a new key, and there was no explanation other than âthe system is playing upâ. Also at this time, I specifically asked if they would ensure my room was made up and I was assured he would contact housekeeping to make sure it would be done. I went out to lunch. I returned just before three, and the room remained unattended to. I went to reception, this time to register complain, and was quite brusquely told âthis is jsut because the housekeeping staff are busyâ. Obviously so!! BNusy all day long doing every room apart from the only room with the âplease make up my room now â sign hung on the door!! I asked to speak to the manager and was rebuffed. It was clear from the evasive response to my requrest that the receptionist did not want me to speak to the mana gera. After I said I really did want to speak to the manager I was told she wa s busy but would be along shortly. I expected him to do something to contact the manager such as pick up the phone or go to find her, instenad he simply started to ignore me and began to deal with another customer, which behaviour I found most discourteous. When I remonstrated about this he irritable stated taht âI'm dealing with your problem by email -- you just can't see what I am writing on my screenâ. 15 mins of this silent treatment passed I asked again for the manager and was told she was too busy to talk to me. I returned to my room, and housekeeping finally arrived at 1500. These service failings would be incompatible with a 3* rating hotel, but the ket to this thing is that these annoyances are all people related. it is not any indivudual issue-- these things are routine, and dealt with elegantly in even the cheapest of hotels. I expect more from a so-called 5 start property. I It is a real pity as the latest own

You and your family will quickly feel at home at Novotel. The Novotel Den Haag World Forum is a family friendly 4-star hotel located on top of the World Forum convention centre and theatre. The seaside resorts of Kijkduin and Scheveningen are close to the hotel, only 10 minutes travel with public transport or car. I love Novotel as a chain, and have stayed at this hotel before and was quite happy. This time I felt things were a little off and I wasn't as satisfied. I seem to recall getting a free bottle of water in the room, which it appears is not included anymore. No more individual shower gels and soaps, but now big pumps of soap, which is OK if you have the complete set of them. Yes, it's more environmentally friendly but it's also a sign of cost-cutting. Breakfast was more or less the same -- good choice and quality -- except on a busy weekend they seemed totally overwhelmed and people had to queue to get a table. On a quieter morning, I noticed a sign stating one can request omelettes and poached eggs from the kitchen, so I did, and this dish never materialized, which was a little awkward. The fresh orange juice machine is awful: constant noise and queues of people taking ages to each make one glass of juice, as it requires that the user slice the orange and then ram each half, one at a time, into the machine, yielding a tiny amount of juice. Repeat for 6 or 7 oranges to get a glass... It would be funny to watch as slapstick if it weren't so annoying to listen to. On the positive side, the rooms are still attractive, comfortable, and quiet.

Excellent
GGuest UserWe stayed in the Deluxe Apartment which lived up to it's title. Very clean , spacious and with high spec fittings including a Villeroy and Bosch Spa bath. The hotel is very special and has lots of character but more importantly the staff are helpful and charming. Leiden is a special city with so may claims to fame. History , beautiful buildings and canals, lovely shops and masses of great places to eat out. We had a lovely Anniversary in this unique city.
We have just stayed for three nights and were very impressed with this hotel . The location is perfect , minutes from the station and the bars , shops and restaurants in the city centre are literally just around the corner. The hotel itself is clean , comfortable and well presented . The rooms are clean and spacious . The breakfast was great and there was always plenty available. The staff were excellent. Check in and out was simple and the reception staff were really helpful ( my daughter had an ear infection when we arrived , and the young lady on reception helped us get a doctors appointment, and made a point of asking us how she was each day ) . The bar and restaurant staff were also very professional and attentive. This hotel was perfect for our family break and the staff should be commended on their excellent service . Thank you .
The hotel is located very close to the bus and train station and easy to find . The room was quiet, clean comfortable and I felt very safe on my own. The bathroom was clean and large with all amenities. There is no staff in the evenings but you can borrow plates, cutlery, wine glasses , bottle openers etc from the breakfast room . The room also has a small fridge and a kettle and there is an elevator. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is access to Netflix and Prime on the TV. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets close by. I used Leiden as a base for visiting Lisse, Delft, Rotterdam, The Hague, Hillegom and Keukenhof.
GGuest UserRecommended!! A surprisingly decorated hotel from the same owner as Tulip Inn. You are taken into a colorful hotel as a kind of experience. In terms of decor, style and fun gadgets. Beautiful cheerful lighting and you are welcomed in the elevator with a pleasant voice from the speakers. Rooms are of course brand new and modern and again colorfully decorated. The regular lighting could be a bit more. Because it was a bit dark at the sink. The hotel has no bar but the takeaway has enough refreshments. Or you can go to the cozy bar of the adjacent hotel (Tullip inn, 10 meters walk). You can also have a delicious breakfast there (recommended!) If you can't find anything at the take away. Price / quality really a winner !! We will definitely come back!
GGuest UserVery close to Leiden Railway Station, very convenient, the hotel is relatively clean, there are many supermarkets around, there are many restaurants, about ten minutes to the center of Leiden, it is convenient to take the train to other cities.
GGuest UserThe Hotel is a real top floor hotel and it has a SPA area on the 12 floor. It is very well located, it has parking place underground. It is clean with very large rooms. Depending on the days the SPA area might be crowded. The staff is also very nice, the wifi is available with good quality. Nice view of the City of Leiden.
MMarcelo SeixasGreat location near the central station of the beautiful city of Leiden. The hotel itself is well into the world-known standards of the Ibis brand; as always, an Ibis hotel is a safe bet for a comfortable night with reasonable prices. Extra points for all of the helpful and sympathetic people at the check-in counter!
(The picture I added is actually the windows' view from my room, which was quite pleasant - even more so with the daylight in the morning)
JJIEThat day, the hotels in Rotterdam and Amsterdam were all booked, and I finally booked this one, and the price should have gone up. The location is rather off, it should be difficult to get there without driving. The service attitude is okay, it seems to be the hotel of a small football club. Free parking, there are parking spaces
