Als je reist naar een stad met de naam Heilbad Heiligenstadt verwacht je toch een beetje in de hemel op aarde terecht te komen. Niets is minder waar in deze voormalige DDR-stad. Grauw, grijs en weinig te beleven. Een eenvoudig Kurpark, een bedompt centrum een Vitalpark die de naam park niet mag dragen. Het hotel staat midden in dat Vitalpark. Wij hadden een mooie kamer met wat smoezelig terras. Prima bed, mooie badkamer. Alleen waren we bij het oprijden van parkeerterrein al 8 euro kwijt, want opvallend deze vakantie dat we bij veel Duitse hotels moeten betalen om te kunnen parkeren. Verdien model van gemeente of hotel??? Het hotel grenst aan de Vital Therme. Wij hebben al veel Duitse Thermen bezocht en deze is niet zo bijzonder. Een groot bad met water van 30 graden en een klein bad met zout water van 32 graden. Het buitenbad was te fris om met 13 graden buiten in te zwemmen. Het ontbijt was geweldig. Veel keuze, heerlijk eten. En ook de gastvrijheid was zeer goed. Kortom, een dikke voldoende voor het hotel en alles er omheen een onvoldoende. Dus eerlijk gezegd geen aanrader om nog eens naar toe te gaan.

Ein rundum tolles Hotel! Moderne, geräumige, saubere Zimmer mit Klimaanlage, riesiges Frühstücksbuffet, tolle Badelandschaft, angenehme Wärme außerhalb der Schwimmbecken, alle Becken gut temperiert, nettes Personal überall, Abstellraum für Fahrräder und Steckdosen für E-Bikes - so geht Hotel !!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times and I booked another 2 stays for July, planning to come with my family and dog. When I made a booking, I clearly stated that we come with a dog, no answer from hotel. I sent 2 emails if it is ok, no asnwer. I called today to check it we can come with a dog even the hotel shows that pets are allowed. Calling 4 times to get someone from the staff. Lady by name Anja was very rude and said that dogs can be only in some rooms (which is not said on the booking website), she could not change my reservation for a room that is available with a dog, she said it is my fault and she hung up the phone. Never ever happened to me and I travel worldwide. This lady does not know to behave to hotel guests!

Went there as a couple over Easter to hike. The hotel is great because it has direct access to the sauna. First hike, then sauna and dinner in the hotel in the evening (buffet). We can also recommend the hotel bar. Friendly staff everywhere. Comfortable beds. Parking can be booked for a fee.

You are in very good hands at the Hotel am Vitalpark. The food in the hotel restaurant was of a star standard for us. The quality of the food ranged from light to hearty. Everything was freshly prepared for fish, meat eaters or vegans. The breakfast buffet also left nothing to be desired. Bad staff usually leads to a lower rating. We have experienced this before. The staff at the Hotel Vitalpark deserve 5 stars for us. We found our room just as the photos showed. Lovingly and modernly furnished. It is worth a visit. The thermal baths are also recommended. Modern with a tropical feel, there is something for young and old. The massages in the Vitalpark were a dream.

This hotel and facilities was fine for a one night stay, but I can't imagine spending longer there as there wasn't that much to do. Cocktails in the bar were good and the rooms were very good. There is a free bus service into town, but the last return is 20h so no use of you want dinner and drinks.

We were there as a couple, with children and as a group of 60 people, always perfect, always friendly, good value for money. Organizing a gala dinner in the Theodor Storm Hall was very successful. Highly recommended
