A one nights stay while travelling around the north coast of Scotland. A delightful hotel with stunning views over Loch Maree. The welcome and information provided was excellent. The room was very comfortable and offered a excellent nights sleep. A delicious breakfast set us up nicely for the day.

Comment dire … indescriptible…

Everything was wonderful. Food, wine, the most amazing views and exceptional hosts. Memories to last a lifetime! Only downside was the water or lack of it but everything else over compensated for it. Very rural which we loved! Our room was stunning.

A wonderful setting with stunning views across the Loch and to the mountains beyond. A very professional check in experience and a lovely comfortable room. The residents’ lounge is relaxing and very welcoming with the fire lit. We found the overnight stay very good value for money given the quality of the accommodation. The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. If I was to give a couple of “work ons” I would say try and lighten the mood at dinner with a less formal choice of background music and also consider a menu with more options and maybe a couple of cheaper ones. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Another of our over night stops on our tour of Scotland. Very professional check in by Daniel, what a fantastic setting with views over the Loch. The lounge and fire a nice touch, the room was excellent. My only comment here is try and sort the water pressure out for the shower, a power pump would sort this. The a**osphere in the dinning room is very formal and whilst good is probably a little over the top for hotel in the middle of no where. The food was good but the menu is very limited and could do with a few more general choices.Breakfast was good and again my only comment would be it could have been hotter. But overall I would stay again and urge others to stay if in the area as the young new team are trying hard to make a go of the premises.

Liked: - [ ] Place and location - [ ] Team - [ ] Peaceful - [ ] Neat Room: - [ ] Outdated, bathroom requires renovation and proper shower - [ ] Low-quality bed duvets that keep slipping off due to their lightness when the heating is off, causing discomfort Dining Area: Considering that this is the spot for evening meals and the somewhat high price for a 3-course dinner, it lacked a**osphere. The view is stunning, but only a few tables get to enjoy it. Interestingly, the kitchen takes up the prime view spot - poor positioning. Potential Solutions: - [ ] Tablecloths and cloth napkins for dinner - [ ] Table candles - [ ] Relocate the kitchen, despite the probable cost Food/Drinks/Wine + - [ ] High-quality ingredients/local produce - [ ] The bisque was exceptional - [ ] Lamb and Venison dishes were superb - [ ] Good breakfast - - [ ] Plates not warmed - [ ] Limited wine selection - [ ] Expensive fixed-price menu as the only option Possible Solutions: - [ ] Include more reasonably priced dishes not on the set menu - [ ] Serve warm plates - [ ] Expand the wine choices Reception Area: - [ ] Outdated - [ ] Cold - [ ] No paper towels in the restroom for hand drying Overall Impression: Despite the hotel not being fully booked and our twin room lacking a shower and needing attention, why not offer an upgrade to a room with a view and a shower as a gesture? It would have cost nothing and improved our stay. The service was commendable and helpful. The hotel was consistently clean. The food was good with excellent ingredients, but there should be more variety and affordable options for lighter meals. In conclusion, it was a decent and pleasant experience. However, if I could only book the same room without a shower, I probably wouldn't stay again.

Booked this stay purely for proximity after kayaking on the loch and was simply looking for a warm bed. Huge but very welcome surprise to find this to have a boutique feel, fine dining and a small but intimate staffing team that made us feel like royalty. Water pressure is impacted due to the private water supply as mentioned by others but I'm sure is on the radar of the new owners who recently have taken over and refurbished the place. Lots of beautiful finishes and luxury fittings such as harris t**** throughout. Attentive staff and incredible food. The views of the loch from many of the rooms and the dining room are awe inspiring. Staff offered to carry our bags, light up a warm log fire for us and went out of their way to communicate and be accommodating. The sign outside which appears to be from the previous business owners looks a little tired and outdated so we were over the moon to find this hidden gem when we stepped inside complete with homemade truffle butter! The owners told us about future plans, investing in EV charging and many other features and are clearly very passionate about their new venture. We'll definitely be back!

What a lovely stay, we stopped of here on our west coast Scotland tour. Upon arrival we were met with welcoming arms and showed to our lovely cosy room which had an amazing view over loch maree. After sorting our belongings out we headed downstairs to one of the lounge areas to read our books by the roaring fire and have some hot chocolate this was lovely. We then headed to the restaurant for our evening meal, how delicious that was massive compliments to the chef! Breakfast was equally amazing. The nights sleep was peaceful however the bed was maybe a bit on the small side but maybe I’m being unfair as we are used to a super king. Also the shower wasn’t very exciting due to bad water pressure however this was explained as the hotel is on a private water system and can sometimes struggle so no drama there. The only other thing I would say is it was too quiet , we were among only a handful of guests staying that night. It was a shame that more people weren’t there to add a bit of a**osphere and enjoy the amazing food. We did stay in a very quiet time of year though would love to come back in peak season. Lastly Thankyou to the staff members who were very polite and made us feel like royalty!

Really lovely hotel with cosy lounge with open fire-perfect venue for colder autumn nights. Room was lovely and everywhere seemed freshly painted. Food was good with large portions. Beautiful view and well worth staying for a few days. Very much the Victorian country house hotel.
