We stayed in a pod which was very cozy and comfortable. But this is not your standard camping. It’s expensive and yet you are treated the same as the campers. One toilet a distance from the pod. And grotty showers a distance away. There are no facilities to cook or boil water. For the considerable price they really should have provided a kettle and tea in the pod. We ate at the restaurant which was great. Fabulous food and great service. Lovely space. The guest lounge is also very cozy. The outdoor springs are good but crowded with not enough shower facilities. The indoor hot spring pool is very dirty. Large wads of hair surrounded me. The pods feel new but the spa facilities feel very tired and in need of renovation. Massage was good but again in a pretty grotty space. The highlight was our walk down to the river which was gorgeous. Would I recommend this place? If you’re ok to hang the expense and put up with the grot then yes. If you expect more bang for your buck then take a hotel room and go in a quiet time. The scenery is wonderful. Staff were all very helpful.

Good facilities, good value with activities and pools at no extra charge. Stayed in our caravan in the camping area. Water and toilet facilities close by. Access to campground is via a gravel track with tight corners, but achievable. Online dining menus are out of date.

Overall, an enjoyable experience. A little more in the way of night lighting would be helpful in finding a way back to the Motorhome Parking Area. We did have torches, but an extension of the lighting already there would be great. I feel the pricing may put off some people, but the variety of Pools, the Sauna, Steam Room were clean, tidy and well presented. Driveways could be improved but I appreciate the good things take time and money. A pleasant experience from our perspective.

Went for one night, stayed for two. Gorgeous setting, great facilities, lovely staff. We really enjoyed the sauna infusions and yoga sessions, was great to have them all included rather than as expensive extras. We were in a camper van, nice pitches although no power. $85 per person felt like very good value to us. We had one meal in the restaurant, the breakfast stack was delicious. There are a few sandflys about but they don't bother you too much when you are up to your neck in the hot pools.

Enjoyable, quiet and relaxing time. Campervan site could have been a little more level which would have helped with sleeping, but access to hot pools and sauna and helpful nature of staff all made it a great stay. Watching the night sky from thermal pools is a great thing to do!

We absolutely loved our stay at Maruia, the facilities are gorgeous and we loved that the pools and bath house were open all hours. Our room was lovely, a very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. The grounds, especially the plantings, are breathtaking, the Beech trees and stunning old Cherry trees, and the poolside plantings were inspiring. The staff were friendly and provide great service and our meals were suburb. The previous time I’d stayed at Maruia was 28 years ago and it’s gotten even more stunning. We are raving about our stay!

Our King Mountain View room was lovely, very warm and inviting. We enjoyed the tranquility of the place which made us rest and recuperate. We discovered infusion saunas together and feel great after our 3 night package stay.

Maruia Springs is truly amazing gem tucked away amidst the mighty Southern Alps of the South Island of New Zealand. We escaped the daily grind in Christchurch for a bit of R&R, and this place is absolutely god awfully amazing in every way. From all of the wellness activities you could choose from throughout the day, to soaking in the hot springs, the Sauna, the Steam Room, the most die hard insane and wicked cold plunge Ive ever dived into (6.8 Degrees at its coldest), and being able to walk through almost an ancient forest right around Maria, it all served to add to our amazing and unique experience. The Food was healthy and divine, the ambience was vivd everywhere you were (Bellbirds flock the place entirely), and the people working there are an absolutely amazing team. In Particular was one of the Wellness coaches Nadia - no matter what class she taught, she captivated every audience member like no one I have ever seen before. She is a true gem and a fantastic asset to Maruia Springs. There was no fitness centre on the premises, which was a bit of a shame, as that is in line with everything they do up there, but it is such a minor thing, that it does not detract from the overall experience. We will definitely be coming back to spent more relaxing and healthy time up there, and do even more of Nadia's classes. Thank you Maruia Springs for creating a wonderful and reinvigorating platform for people to escape to - if only for just a few nights.

We had a great one-night stay at Muruia Springs. We camped in our motorhome and loved that each park was separated by garden and the gorgeous views in the morning with misty cloaked hillside. The vibe throughout the resort was of relaxation. We were a little worried about bringing our 3 year old but he reflected the vibe and loved the hot pools, the chickens, the swing seats in the lounge. I had a pregnancy massage which was totally devine. This is a really great spot to spend at least one luxurious night. loved it
