This was a nice little place in Lewisburg, a short walk from all shops and restaurants in the small city. Rooms are spacious and modern and there is ample parking in the area. If you have a lot of luggage like us, mind that there is only stairs to the second floor and that they are quite steep. The few small negatives was that the door/walls were paper thin, so at some point we acutally thought that people outside was on their way into our room. Also, although the bathroom was really nice and spacious, the shower pressure was really weak. It also took a long time to even get warm water, so that was a bit of a let down. We came from a day full of hiking, so it took a while to get us all properly showered. Other than that I would definitely recommend this place over any chain hotel any day.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Escape. It’s walkable to the awesome downtown area, and adjacent to the Asylum if you’d like a cocktail or bite to eat.
Our room was cozy, clean and had everything we needed to make our stay a great one. Communication was easy and access was effortless. Parking was available everyday we were there right outside.

If I could rate this property higher than a 5 it would surely deserve it. We stayed on the 2nd floor on a night when the restaurant was closed. It's very spacious, has a roomy bathroom and small kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean. Although there is no elevator as noted in the listing the stairs are wide with wide treads so carrying luggage up them is on the easy side. We walked to Food & Friends for a wonderful meal. It is a great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here overnight while in the area to fish and canoe the Greenbrier River. This hotel was in an old building above a restaurant. However, it was quiet despite the restaurant downstairs. The room was very cute! Everything has been updated and was quite modern. The owner even texted me the morning of our stay to give us the door codes. I texted back with a question about parking because we had a 16 foot canoe on our vehicle and she was very helpful! Our only complaints are that there was only 1 trash can and there was a soft spot in the floor of the shower. We would definitely stay here again!
