We stopped for one night in Lexington on our way to visit family. We were dissatisfied upon check-in when we were told there would be no hot breakfast available the next day (because of an electrical issue), despite the hotel being aware of the issue three days prior. We asked why they didn't notify guests in advance, but they said it would not be possible to reach everyone. We selected this hotel over the Holiday Inn because we thought the breakfast would be better for our family, They did have some small muffins and danishes that the kids liked. The condition of the room we were assigned to, including its odor and stains on the carpet and furniture, was disappointing compared to our experiences at other Hyatt Place hotels where rooms were cleaner. However, the woman who assisted us during check-in was helpful when we requested a room change due to the smell, the noise from neighboring guests, and the stains on the carpet. Additionally, a staff member in the morning handled multiple guest complaints about the breakfast offerings admirably. It was evident that we weren't the only ones who felt we had paid full price for less than satisfactory service. I revised my review after the General Manager followed up and informed us that upon check-in, the front desk should have notified us about the discounts being offered or the option to cancel reservations at no charge. We were given a discount the following day.
