Suhuatang Shangi Homestay (Lijiang)

Shanjie was more than just a one-night stopover for us; it was a gathering spot, a home base for our group of friends, just like we said during dinner last night. From the coffee the owner brought us upon arrival to breakfast under the trees the next morning, from the bright, sun-drenched courtyard during the day to the tranquil, elegant garden under the night rain – everything felt serene and incredibly comforting. I love this place: the latte art shaped like a swan, the stir-fried cabbage we had for dinner, the melon seeds we munched on while chatting, and the brave, adorable dog, Kele. I hope I can return here next year when I escape the real world, to see Honglei Ge, Oppa, Zhu Ge, the owner, Kele, and perhaps the friends I met this time, along with some new ones. My first stop in Yunnan was truly healing. Facilities: Perfect score. The courtyard, which the owners reportedly designed themselves, is incredibly beautiful and picturesque. Hygiene: The natural environment is wonderful, the room itself was very clean, and disposable toiletries were provided. Environment: Absolutely amazing! Service: Absolutely amazing! The owner's latte art is truly beautiful, and both the coffee and dinner were super delicious.

Extremely satisfied! The owner is very kind and the environment is just as good as pictured – absolutely lovely. It's very quiet here, perfect for a stay. The breakfast rice noodles were also delicious. Definitely five stars for this place. I'll definitely come back here next time I'm in Lijiang. Highly, highly recommend!

At Shanji Guesthouse in Shuhe, I truly learned the meaning of 'bashi' (a Sichuanese term for 'comfortable' or 'perfectly pleasant') ☀️ Waking up naturally, I'd open the window to a sun-drenched courtyard. I'd slowly enjoy a delicious breakfast, then nestle into a corner to soak up the sun, sip coffee, and chat about nothing in particular—time truly slows down here. The coffee from the owner was fragrant, the flowers in the courtyard were in full bloom, and the most familiar person was sitting right beside me. I could endlessly refill mornings like these. I stayed here for two nights and was very satisfied. I'll definitely come back again!

The handsome owner was incredibly warm and attentive, proactively offering travel advice, shuttle services, and customized itinerary planning, especially providing professional guidance for hiking and photography needs. The overall service emphasized a personal touch, creating a 'home away from home' atmosphere.

Highly recommend this hidden gem of a guesthouse! The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the beautiful Naxi-style courtyard. Sunlight streaming in, sipping coffee – it was simply delightful. The room was spotless, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a wonderfully quiet night's sleep. The owner was incredibly welcoming, sending the location in advance. It didn't feel like staying in a hotel; it felt more like coming home to a distant family.

Booked this charming courtyard guesthouse with friends in Shuhe. It's tucked away in a quiet corner of Shuhe Ancient Town, just a few minutes' walk from the center, but that doesn't stop it from having convenient parking and easy access – full marks for location and transportation! Our room had a great view of the snowy mountains, definitely a 10/10 for the view. The courtyard itself is small but beautifully designed, perfect for kids to run around in – excellent use of space. In the mornings, we even enjoyed a delicious, creamy coffee with heart-shaped latte art, specially made by the owner – a lovely touch that looked like a pumpkin or tomato. Both the adults and the kids were really happy. If we come back to Lijiang next year, we'd love to stay here again.

This guesthouse is absolutely fantastic! The soundproofing is excellent, the bed is comfortable, and the room is spacious with all the amenities you could possibly need. It's incredibly clean. You can even see the snowy mountains from the guesthouse, and the garden is lovely – perfect for relaxing with a drink. The owner is also very kind and handsome!

The design of the courtyard and rooms is lovely, and the coffee served is delicious. I found out the B&B owner leads many hiking tours; I'd love to join one next time. It's not too far from Shuhe Ancient Town and the airport shuttle bus, and you can even see the 'sunrise over the golden mountains' (the first rays of sun hitting the snow-capped peaks) from your room, which is a real treat!
