Creta Maris Resort

The hotel itself is outstanding. Modern, clean, very well kept. Rooms are spacious, clean, and bed very comfy. Beautiful flowers everywhere, and amazing views. Unfortunately there appears to be preferential service for certain individuals, especially during dinner service. We went without drinks on two occasions, as staff appeared to be concentrating on certain diners, ensuring they were being served. When I asked for drinks, I was abruptly told to wait, only to be waiting for up to 30 minutes. Not good when you are dining with a thirsty 2 year old. The boiled eggs at breakfast which are my daughter's favourite were always raw. The service in the main bar is poor. The staff are all very lovely, but the service structure does not work. There could be a wait of up to 45 minutes even to receive a menu. And then another 30/45 to receive a drink. This was during times I would consider to be quiet. I went up to the bar to order drinks, and again was abruptly told to sit and wait. The staff seemed to have no system of knowing what table the drinks were for, as they were often left wandering around trying to find out who ordered them. Obviously the water park was too cold for our two year old during April, so one of the reasons we booked this hotel was due to it having outdoor heated pools. Unfortunately, nearly all the families with babies had to cram themselves into a very small pool, as one of the pools was not heated, when it was stated that it would be. Several people complained to staff who were pool attendees, but they appeared in no rush to fix the problem. It wasn't resolved before we left. Like I said, the hotel and views are amazing. If you are used to extremely slow service, then it's the place for you. I really has very high hopes and expectations, but have received better service in 4 star hotels in places such as Croatia

A great hotel and certainly worthy of its 5 star rating. The public areas are spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed. The deluxe sea view room we had was equally good enough as one would expect from a 5 star hotel. We are seasoned world travellers so we should know. The main buffet restaurant provided a large selection of cuisine to cater for all tastes. There was not much variation over the course of the week, however there are six A La carte restaurants to choose from and whilst only 3 were open during our stay (the others opened for the season just after we departed) we can certainly recommend the Alsati (seafood) and Asmari (Mediterranean) . On each occasion we had a table next to the beach and this was certainly one of the highlights of our stay. We did go the extra mile and order a decent bottle of wine to further enhance the experience. The main pool area is superb with numerous seating areas and additional bars and good food outlets. The sun loungers are extremely comfortable and always available. Reserving with a towel is thankfully not allowed but there is no shortage anyway. The pool area is adjacent to the beach which again is essentially private to the hotel. The Cretan style village aspect of the resort was amazing and was a delight to wander around. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the nearby town and there is also a good daily tour bus (train) which stops outside the hotel. As a young retired couple and still very mobile we do tend to try and avoid school holiday periods when travelling , however we didn’t take into account the French Spring break and the buffet restaurant did feel like like a kindergarten at times. Never seen so many pushchairs! However it didn’t detract from our delightful experience and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Cristina is the best. This was my first massage ever and I must say, Very relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely worth every penny

All very good. Stuff is very friendly and courteuos. Nice place for a deep body massage to put it at the right place again.

The massage was awesome!!! Sofia gave me a massage and facial; she really was amazing. She adjusted everything to your likes and needs making it an overall great experience! Highly recommend asking for her when you go. The only thing I wish the spa would add would be acne or extracting facials to their selection.
