A few years ago I stayed here more than once due to the proximity to the hospital. The discount was good for hospital families and it was a decent place. Now it is under different management and it was a disaster. The discount and price was still really good, but that's the only good thing I can say. All the info on the website and the info in the book in the room said checkout was noon, so I asked for a late checkout of 1pm. The person at the desk (possible the owner or manager) argued with me that checkout was 11am so I said he should update the website. He then said 1pm was fine and he had a contract with Bryan Health and always tried to accommodate those guests. I told him how much I appreciated this and since I didn't know how things would be going at the hospital I really wanted to be able to come back and rest a bit midday. He was fine with the 1pm checkout. When I got to the room the smell literally made me step back. At first I thought it had been a smoking room, but then I really couldn't tell if it was just musty, moldy, smoky or pet smell. And it was not very clean. Sick was a mess with whiskers from the last guest, hair on the sink and in the bathroom, etc. Mirror was smeared from having been cleaned with a wet rag. The office chair was filthy with all kinds of things spilled on it and ground into the fabric. The sheets DID appear to be clean. In the morning the noise started at 4:30am and the walls and doors are so old and thin you could hear everything from the hallway, other rooms, etc. The next day I left about 6:30am for the hospital. I got some lunch and came back at 11:15am to find them cleaning my room. I explained the situation and they called the person I'd talked to the previous night and they said they'd just finish and I could have it. But I noticed they'd already cleaned the bathroom and restocked the towels, etc. and I didn't want to mess that up for the next person so I just left. Because I feel certain they would have not come back and cleaned it again. The positives are fridge and microwave in the room, proximity to Bryan East, discount for hospital families and free breakfast. But none of that is worth how disgusting and difficult this all was. Also there was no information on what the wi-fi password was and when I walked back out to ask the owners (I assume) were lounging in the front and seemed annoyed that I asked. I will not stay here again. It could be a great place again, but they need to invest in a lot of upgrades.
