I moved to Maryland 10 months ago and have been staying at Sonesta ES before my new place is ready. For the most part it has been good. The rooms are a good size, the beds are comfy and the housekeeping staff is amazing. However, the one thing that has tarnished my stay has been their maintenance man Percell . He has made my stay absolute H*ll. Every time something breaks, he refuses to fix it. 1. He followed me around the hotel grounds and threatened to fine me $250 for walking my dogs around on a leash. 2. The soap dispenser fell off the wall. I reported it to the front desk at least 5 times over the course of 4 weeks. Meanwhile, I had to use the soap dispenser off of the floor. Percell told me that it was housekeeping's job to fix it and it wasn't his job. I finally had to corner him at the front desk in front of the manager one morning for him to finally come and take a look at it. 3. The batteries on my door lock were going out. I reported it to the front desk several times over the course of 2 weeks. He refused to complete the work order and one morning the lock completely failed and i was locked out of my room. 4. I had several small spiders crawl across me while i was in bed so I requested maintenance to come and spray the window sills. I requested it a few times and was told that I needed to vacate the room for 3 days in order to spray the sills. I ended up going to Walmart and getting some spray and doing it myself. 5. The soap dispenser fell off of the wall again. I had to put in SEVERAL MORE maintenance requests. I asked him to come and fix it the same day that housekeeping was cleaning my room, as I would have already exited the room so that they could clean. I was told that he could not put the soap dispenser on the wall the same day that housekeeping was there because if they wiped the wall with a damp rag, then it had to dry for a least 24 hours before he could go in and mount it. I finally went to the assistant manager Ashley and complained. She said that they would address the issues with him. 6. The toilet clogged up. I went to the desk and got a plunger. After plunging it several times, the water in the bowl is clear, but it still isn't flushing. So, obviously, there is a clog deep withing the pipe that I cant get to. I informed not just 1, but 2 members of the front desk staff at 2 separate times on Wednesday 3/20. The maintenance man did not come on Wednesday. I used the toilet in the gatehouse for the remainder of the day, then when I realized that he wasn't coming to fix the toilet, I asked for a room key to a vacant room so that I could use the toilet during the night. I waited on Thursday until the afternoon before going down to the desk and reminding them that I was waiting for the toilet to be fixed, only to have them tell me that maintenance has already left for the day. So, I will be over 48 hours with no working toilet. How is it that the maintenance man can hold guests
