Our stay at the hotel for a wedding was overall fantastic. The location was breathtaking, providing an idyllic setting for the occasion. Although we didn't explore the spa and golf facilities, they looked inviting. The breakfast was a delightful mix of traditional English and continental options, starting our day on a high note.
The only hiccup was the lack of assistance with our luggage to our room across the car park, a tricky trek in high heels, especially with the unpredictable weather. Fortunately, the rain paused, easing our journey slightly.
Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend the hotel for its stunning location and delicious breakfast, with a note to be prepared for a bit of a walk if your room is further out.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding this weekend! Had an apartment for the night. Was very nice and well equipped even had tea, coffee and milk in the fridge which wasn't expected as self catering. Unfortunately didn't sleep very well as bedrooms where so hot. Couldn't get any aircon to work and not sure the rooms even had it in them. Then realised in the morning the towel radiator in the ensuites left on full heat presumably by housekeeping so that didn't help along with the hot weather. Alot of noise of people walking past the apartments in the early hours too and cars reving waking us up! Used the spa facilities in the morning and they were pretty unimpressive too...not very clean and could do with a refurb. Run down and didn't feel very clean and spa like which is a shame as was looking forward to a relaxing spa.

We only had a 1 night stay for a wedding but wow what a place. It seemed every amenity was on site. At check even though late on a Saturday night the staff were welcoming at extremely helpful in fact showed us to our ecopod even though it was raining.
The ecopod was nice and basic but the clue is in the name. Our breakfast which was included was absolutely brilliant well presented well cooked and filling again all staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Check out again was a pleasant experience and we would not hesitate to stay or visit if we were in the area again.

Swimming Pool great. Staff within pool side were lovely and helpful. Gym huge!
Free towels but £10 for robes. £2 for slippers.
Eco pod great, showers only x3 were lovely.
But very small to get into.
Restaurant average!
Breakfast a buffet!
Receptionist SUE was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Knowledgeable and kind.
Bar staff rude! No manners young lad.

I took my mum here for her 60th birthday for the Queen tribute night. We had a lovely night & danced it away. The food was ok, no complaints. The room was basic but nice and had all we needed in there. The bed were lovely and comfortable!! And the shower was great. There the 2 main things in my eyes - Bed & shower. All the staff at Okd Thorns were so nice and helpful. They could go out of there way anymore to welcome u and help. The spa was lovely and we both had a massage which was lush!! The facilities were also lovely….. My only issue was there was only one hot tub working and the one that was working only one side has bubbles. So this meant that i was sat on a side with no bubbles and my mum was on the other side with others. It also wasn’t a very hot temperature for a hot tub. That was my only issue really. But overall love my stay and i would 100% go back especially for a tribute night! Thank you Old Thorns.

Went to a so called Queen Experience at Old Thorns last night. More like a Benedorm Karaoke night than a Queen tribute. Singer turned the mike around encouraging others to sing when he couldn't reach the high notes (or dropped half an octave to compensate). Old Thorns bills them as "Internationally & Critically acclaimed". I would like to know where and by whom !! Food was hot and adequate but once the meal was over we noticed all the table lights, ornaments and even bottles of water we were drinking being removed from the table leaving us sitting there looking at each other in astonishment. As with most poor events loud volume was the substitute for quality. Fortunately, we were near the back of the room so could make an early escape. As we left we found others who had fled the event even earlier than us who could not believe Old Thorns would ruin their reputation by hosting an event of such low quality. If other bands they hire are all of similar calibre, avoid them like the plague!

I stay at this Hotel all the time. The difference between a normal hotel and a special one is in its service. The staff at old Thorns are amazing!! Any issue that has come about through me constantly travelling has been assisted by and supported by the hotel management and staff. The facilities are second to none, the food and drinks are conducive to the standard of the product. I can not fault a single element of the product. Well Done ! Regards Matt Hudson.

Stayed for a friend’s wedding & got basic room. Comfortable bed but very noisy- no insulation so could hear everything from outside in the corridor & other rooms!
Decor was a bit tired & furniture was scratched and dented - but we didn’t really use it. Tea and coffee provided in the room & nice towels in bathroom! Room was £109 not including breakfast, so a bit pricey for a basic room.
Staff were all lovely & very helpful, we should have put the DND sign on the door as we were woken up early by housekeeping!!
