Old Thorns Hotel & Resort

Our stay at the hotel for a wedding was overall fantastic. The location was breathtaking, providing an idyllic setting for the occasion. Although we didn't explore the spa and golf facilities, they looked inviting. The breakfast was a delightful mix of traditional English and continental options, starting our day on a high note. The only hiccup was the lack of assistance with our luggage to our room across the car park, a tricky trek in high heels, especially with the unpredictable weather. Fortunately, the rain paused, easing our journey slightly. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend the hotel for its stunning location and delicious breakfast, with a note to be prepared for a bit of a walk if your room is further out.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding this weekend! Had an apartment for the night. Was very nice and well equipped even had tea, coffee and milk in the fridge which wasn't expected as self catering. Unfortunately didn't sleep very well as bedrooms where so hot. Couldn't get any aircon to work and not sure the rooms even had it in them. Then realised in the morning the towel radiator in the ensuites left on full heat presumably by housekeeping so that didn't help along with the hot weather. Alot of noise of people walking past the apartments in the early hours too and cars reving waking us up! Used the spa facilities in the morning and they were pretty unimpressive too...not very clean and could do with a refurb. Run down and didn't feel very clean and spa like which is a shame as was looking forward to a relaxing spa.

We only had a 1 night stay for a wedding but wow what a place. It seemed every amenity was on site. At check even though late on a Saturday night the staff were welcoming at extremely helpful in fact showed us to our ecopod even though it was raining. The ecopod was nice and basic but the clue is in the name. Our breakfast which was included was absolutely brilliant well presented well cooked and filling again all staff couldn't have been more helpful. Check out again was a pleasant experience and we would not hesitate to stay or visit if we were in the area again.

Free car park Lovely hotel Swimming Pool great. Staff within pool side were lovely and helpful. Gym huge! Free towels but £10 for robes. £2 for slippers. Eco pod great, showers only x3 were lovely. But very small to get into. Restaurant average! Breakfast a buffet! Receptionist SUE was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Knowledgeable and kind. Bar staff rude! No manners young lad. Typical golf hotel.

Always a great experience at Old Thorns for our golf trip at a very fair price. Facilities very good and staff from front of house to restaurant/bars to golf all so friendly and professional.

We went to play golf over three days / two nights. The golf course is certainly challenging but good fun and exhausting. The accommodation was up to a very high standard and food from the set menu very good.The sports bar had a good selection of draft lager type beers and the wine list quite extensive if a little expensive. The staff were great and all in all a lovely stay and I would certainly go back

Stayed as part of a small golf group. Check-in was good with everything prepared. We were all in the Peter Allis building which was fine. Room was clean, bed comfy and there was tea and coffee facilities in the room. Carvery for the evening meal was excellent...the chef carved a decent amount of beef and gammon and we then helped ourself to everything else. The table service colleges were very engaging and attentive. We retired to the champagne bar which was also good. Slightly more expensive than Im used to but not silly pricing. Breakfast was excellent. This is my third golf visit here and the best one so far.

Just come back from an overnight stay and could not fault this hotel. Had evening meal there which was delicious and very well presented. The restaurant was busy but the service was still very good. We also had breakfast there and again this was well presented and plenty of choice. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We used the pool and gym facilities the pool area was very good, jacuzzi, foot spa, sauna and heated stone relaxing beds. The gym had good equipment. Did not have any spa treatments but will definitely be returning for a spa break.
