Haslem Hotel

The rooms were very clean. Breakfast and dinner were good. Staff service was good and kind. The location is near mall, shops and other restaurants.

We went into hotel last Friday evening around 7pm we were amazed how many empty tables there was - however these tables had a lot of empty glasses and bottles on them. Before we sat down I went to reception and spoke to Tony. I asked him politely if he could get someone to clear and clean the tables. He said go and ask the bar staff! I said no I’m asking you as you are on reception and can get it organised. Tony said it wasn’t his problem but he would help me clear 1 table - obviously I was shocked at his comment and replied no I’m not here to work. We said we would just go on somewhere else and he never lifted his head! Some receptionist!! It’s no wonder there was lots of empty seats.

look forward to coming back here, enjoyed the stay and found the whole team friendly and helpful! Just a pity I don’t get to come over to NI more often !!

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Before booking, I specifically called to check whether they could accommodate allergies and was assured they could. However, when we arrived and ordered, we were suddenly told that many dishes could not be changed and that I only had a choice of three meals. This was completely different from what I had been told when making the reservation. The food itself was only okay, but the service was terrible. The staff were unhelpful, inattentive, and seemed to ignore customers waiting for service. At one point, no member of staff came near our table for over 30 minutes that was for drinks at first, and I eventually had to ask a waitress just to take our order. To make matters worse, the music was far too loud, making it difficult for us to even hear each other speak across the table. We had planned to order desserts, but after the poor service throughout the evening, we decided against it as we felt we would be waiting another hour. Instead, we ordered tea and coffee, only to be met with attitude from the waitress, who responded with “Is that it?” When paying the bill, I explained our experience to the manager, who showed little interest or concern. I honestly cannot believe we paid for service like this. The management and owners seriously need to retrain their staff because the level of customer service was unacceptable from start to finish. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. This is especially disappointing as we regularly bring business to the hotel through car clubs, but this venue is now firmly off our list.

Visited Harlem with friends as part of a package with The Lark. We arrived around 5pm for a catch-up before dinner at 6pm. Unfortunately, the music in the bar area was extremely loud — so loud that we couldn’t hear each other or even the waitress taking our drinks order. We asked several members of staff if the music could be turned down, but nothing was done. We were really looking forward to moving into the restaurant area for dinner to get away from the noise, but unfortunately our table was still in the bar area. We expressed our disappointment but were told there were no seats available in the restaurant. As the meal was prepaid as part of the package, we stayed, otherwise we likely would have left. We ordered at 6pm but didn’t receive our food until almost 7pm, which meant we had to cancel dessert because we needed to be back at The Lark before 8pm. The food itself was average, but the atmosphere and service really let the experience down. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it or return again.
