The hotel is about 5 minutes taxi ride from the airport making it really convenient. The rooms are clean with everything you need. The pool is great and the sun loungers very comfortable. You can watch incoming planes landing from the pool. People tend to put their towels down before the pool opens, which can be frustrating and means waiting for a lounger if you don’t do that - Tip: if going in July (it was 33 degrees) go to the beach first and then the pool around 4/5pm and you’ll get a lounger and quieter pool. Hotel is within walking distance of both Ammes and Ai Helis beaches which are immaculate. The water is clean and clear. We would definitely return.

Booked this as a solo trip and I could not have wished for a nicer experience. The staff made me feel like a part of their family. It's a fairly small hotel so it feels nice and personal when you see familiar faces each day. The rooms are average size with a nice balcony overlooking the countryside and sea in the distance. It is fairly quiet at this hotel which was perfect for me. The pool has no noisy animation which again was great for me. The dining area is alfresco with nice relaxing music playing. I thought the food was great with lots of variety each day. There is a nice beach a short walk away where you can rent beds in peak season. It is worth to note in early may this facility wasn't open but it was nice to relax on a towel anyway. Irene and Kristina on reception were always happy to help. The staff here are what makes this place stand out. They have a spa offering treatments and a sauna. At an extra cost but not bad prices. Magdalena gave the best facial. The wifi was good and the decor of the room nice and bright. A short walk away is a bus stop to the capital Argostoli which is really easy to do and well worth it. Not much nightlife around the hotel but this did not bother me at all as I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The staff at dinner and breakfast always had a smile. Elva, Filipo and Labros you guys are amazing at what you do. Lula my cleaner was adorable and kept my room spotless everyday. The cleanliness here is top notch. This hotel was perfect for a solo woman travelling alone. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Kefalonia, you will have a lovely stay and most importantly will be treated like a valued guest by the incredible staff. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful stay, one of the best holidays ever.

Great hotel, good location, many beaches only a short drive away. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance, facilities were very good, very clean, tidy and well maintained. Two pools and lounger areas. Room was excellent with a sea view, cleaned every day ex Sunday. Very friendly staff as usual in Greece and especially Maria in the bar area who looked after us so well and Olga, in the restaurant every morning for breakfast. Would definitely recommend it.

A lovely hotel, very clean and today with lovely staff. The hotel is in quite a rural area so I would recommend booking excursions or hiring a car. The local beach, Ammes beach is lovely for a swim. Overall the hotel was absolutely fantastic, the food was good, we went half board and enjoyed every breakfast and dinner that was served, the hotel also has some really nice lunch options. The rooms are nice and spacious and come equipped with all amenities, hotel staff are really friendly and welcoming and always happy to help. The hotel pool was a lovely place to sit for a relaxing day, we visited in October and had no problems finding somewhere to sit but I could imagine that during peak summer months that the hotel would be short of sun loungers. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to someone visiting Kefalonia, Argostoli is a 20 euro taxi away or you can catch the local bus from Ammes beach bus stop for just 2 euro, overall great hotel and good location.

Had a wonderful weeks stay at this hotel. Exceptionally clean. Very friendly staff. Food was amazing - even more so as my daughter has coeliac disease and was provided with her own basket of gluten free food every breakfast, and had the ingredients of the evening meals explained. We had no problems getting sun beds round the pool. The room was really nice. We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked to come back next may.

Lovely room & location, Staff all great ,pool area lovely however the reviews are true regarding guests hogging Sun loungers! Our 1st 5 days we couldn't find a single lounger yet 8/10 beds unoccupied but towels covering them for hours & hours! Last few days we managed to find some & then enjoyed our holiday a bit more. Housekeeping was fantastic although each room should either have a card to put out saying do not disturb or please make up room. Towels were changed everyday even though we didnt place on the floor, this was a waste for the hotel laundry. Now on to the food , The food needs to be hot! Everything was stone cold Breakfast was definitely the best & scrambled eggs delicious but unfortunately all evening meals were generally poor & again stone cold! Prices at the pool bar were expensive coffee at €4.50 most expensive for a small cup! That was the only time we ordered at that price! €9 for a cocktail we tried one each & that wasnt nice so we didnt order anymore. Special mention for Philip in the restaurant he should be a manager he was much more friendly than all staff in the evenings & to Angeleke breakfast waitress, she's a hotel receptionist in the making, very good with people. In all we enjoyed our experience but it could be so much better with a little tweaking. Hope you enjoyed our Chocolates Irene

Astra Village is the perfect place for a vacation or getaway. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean. The swimming pool is perhaps the nicest we have ever sawm in! Daily brekfast buffet is delicious and plentiful. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating. We can't wait to return! Do not hesitate to book a stay here. perfect for families or a romantic honeymoon!

Just had a lovely week here and very relaxing As many have said the staff are a credit to this hotel and all seemed very happy in their very busy work The hotel is immaculately clean throughout The food is spot on and we can’t understand the criticism The breakfast was extremely good with plenty of choices The lunches we tried were brilliant, really tasty and well sized As for the evening meal we budgeted to eat out more due to the poor reviews, we ended up eating out just twice as in our opinion the food was spot on for the both of us with one being a veggie As for the situation with the sun beds we realize that there is only so much room so it is first come first served unfortunately We would recommend and definitely return.

Been here several times. First. Have to say the staff are amazing very friendly and can’t do enough for you. Apartments and grounds are kept immaculate they take pride in their work Breakfast has plenty of choice Evening meals are fine although do get a car and explore the island. Done fantastic restaurants to be seen Has a spa (local costs apply ) and a small free gym enough to keep fit whilst away. If more serious gym you like visit gymland in argostoli run by George (25 euros for week pass) Rooms have all been updated over years. Nice and clean plus free air con and a safe Pillows not great though. Usual for Greece Nice and close to airport and nice to watch planes land Good bar. Pool table and some entertainment plus not loud around the pool Only downside have noticed particularly bad this year is the amount of selfish people ( English I’m afraid ) reserving sunbeds very early then off to brekkie they go and come back hours later. I’m watching these muppets do his now as i eat my brekkie getting ready for a beach day. They need to provide more sunbeds as it’s now busier That aside hire a car kefalonia is beautiful. Yes the roads are great. Just take your time and visit the beaches Recommend Pefani’s car hire. No credit card charges and they will drop to hotel. Come here and enjoy.
