We booked this hotel as its location met our requirements. That said, it turned out to be something of a gem. We had a comfortable, if slightly dated, room in a characterful building, but it really scored in terms of the staff and the catering. Both breakfast and evening meal were of a high standard and the all the staff were excellent.

Nice hotel. Rooms are good and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic, I really couldn't fault it. Good aftercare also as I left my flash drive in my room and they kindly posted it back to me promptly. Would highly recommend

Really nice hotel. From arrival to departure the service was excellent - friendly & efficient. Room was comfortable with nice big cups for a cuppa, and spotlessly clean. Highlight was the breakfast, which was excellent - really tasty cooked breakfast and great selection. Would totally recommend and will happily come back.

The only reason I've given this just 4 stars instead of 5 is that my wife thought the room was a bit dated, and in need of a makeover. Personally, I couldn't care less, because everything else was great. We didn't have an evening meal, but judging by the superb quality of the breakfast, I would imagine the restaurant is excellent. We spent the late evening in the very well-stocked bar, being attended to by the wonderful staff, all of whom (including the breakfast staff), were most pleasant, efficient and friendly. We won't hesitate to return if we need to stay overnight in the area again.

It was OK, and nothing more than OK. Tired looking room. Not dirty, just needed attention to paintwork, and finishing touches. We weren't there to watch T.V. but when you get back to the room after being out, we like to relax with watching the T.V. for half an hour or so. We couldn't get a decent picture and spent more time trying to move the aeriel around. We stay in a lot of hotels and almost all have the T.V. wired through the wall into a central aerial. When you pay for a premium room, you shouldn't really be have to be messing around with the fixtures and fittings. We arrived back at the hotel at about 10.30pm in time for a night cap, however, the bar was closed. The night porter had to open everything up to provide us with a couple of drinks. It took around 10 minutes to get served. Not the night porters fault, he was rushing around trying to do other things. Nobody on reception when we left in the morning, nowhere to deposit the room key, so we just left it on the reception desk. We just felt a little bit like we weren't wanted there, and left feeling a bit flat.

Very accommodating excellent food & bar service lovely fresh clean decor in restaurant & bar. Fresh towels etc tea coffee water. Sadly the housekeeping let them down dirt above sockets and behind bed and if you have allergies deep clean is a must the old radiator & furniture gave the room a old house smell even tho it was a new part of the building BUT I would definitely recommend staying here! Lovely hospitality throughout

I booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews and the pictures on the website. The room I was initially put in was tiny, tired, outdated and generally shappy - totally the opposite to the pictures on the website. The room was so cold I could see my breath! Having booked for 2 nights I checked availability and could see other rooms were available so went to reception to request to be moved only to be told they were fully booked, I questioned this and was told the website was incorrect, I persevered and was then told there was a room available and was moved to a refurbished room.
The food was surperb but to preserve their reputation for travelling guests they should not be offering rooms of such an inadequate standard.
Once moved my stay was pleasant but I won't be returning even though I visit this area for work frequently as I do not want to risk being allocated another room like the I was initially given.

Excellent value for money. Plentiful and excellent quality breakfast, clean and comfortable room, good range of beers on the bar. Staff are friendly and efficient. Top marks all round.

The food in the restaurant is really very good indeed and consistently so. Great value for money food and drink. Decent wines by the glass selection. Excellent cooked breakfast. Well trained and friendly staff. When I’m not staying in Leeds city centre, this will be where I stay over on business / have dinner going forward.
