We chose this hotel because it is only a stone’s throw away from Victoria Falls. It is nestled at the top of the falls, with a beautiful view of the waters from above. The sunset is one of the most magnificent ones you will ever see - go to the water pontoon just before sunset to soak in an undisturbed view. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and each has a terrace where you can relax with a view of the perfectly manicured green lawns. Breakfast was included in our package and was a lavish delight. The staff were not overly friendly, rather matter-of-factly and generally not very forthcoming, except our very sweet butler, who ensured we had the most pleasant stay. She provided us with cans of mosquito spray for the rooms at night, as the hotel is situated next to water, and there were plenty of them in our rooms. The hotel is already so pretty as it is, and it does not need to hold zebras or giraffes to make it more appealing. In fact, I would very much welcome the hotel management to rethink the hotel’s allures and attractions and consider freeing the wild animals back into their natural habitat.

A few days before Christmas, I stayed here with my husband for two nights. The environment is first-rate, and the service is generally worse than Southeast Asia and slightly worse than the equivalent hotels in African countries. When I left the house in the morning, a cleaning sign was hung up. I returned to the house more than three in the afternoon and did n’t clean it. I did n’t clean it until I went back at night. Breakfast was okay, the British and American breakfasts were similar. It was ok, but there was no freshly squeezed juice, and the beverage felt like concentrated juice and water. Turned up turn-down service at night, and a small snack was good. The environment is particularly good. There are monkeys in the yard. They are not as fierce as those in China. They are not strong and do not actively attack people. The perimeter of the hotel is the safari park. After eating Chinese food with my husband for the first night, I went back to the hotel and saw a wild boar about 30 meters away from the hotel entrance. The big window facing the river in the room facing the river is very quiet. It is very comfortable to open the window in the morning and watch the river view lying on the bed. The quilt is a duvet, but the sheet cover is not soft and comfortable enough, which may be a common problem in African countries. Overall it is worth living.
