Now my partner and I are not in anyway snobbish and would stay at most places if it was a place to lay your head and have a bit of breakfast the following morning but to say we felt dirty just standing in this place is an understatement. Came to North Wales which is a place we hold special in our hearts to book our wedding venue and saving all our money for that so decided to stay on a budget, unfortunately after stepping in to the hotel it just got worse!! The outside of the building was stained, it had grass and plants growing out of the guttering, the steps up to reception were filthy and broken. First impressions can sometimes be misleading but the smell of damp when you walk in to the reception was overpowering, easy check in and to be fair the receptionist was lovely and very helpful. Given the keys to our room and as we walked up the stairs the smell just got worse, despite the multiple plug in air fresheners. The carpets were threadbare stained and ripped, broken glass in the entrance door. We walked along to our room where there was new carpet so had hope that the room would not be of the same standard as the downstairs…… I could not have been more wrong. Room seemed okay at first glance, very warm day and the radiators were on, there was also no way of turning them off, rusted with no temperature control on, we opened the window , which was filthy, but the smell of poo in the bathroom, the stains on the carpet and bed spread, and the peeling furniture finished us off. We knew we could not stay in this hole. We walked down the stairs there was a sheet hung against the glass panels of the door to the area that used to be a bar. The food rating of 3 displayed on the door was spotted after. We ended up booking another hotel room and just leaving. We handed back the key and the receptionist was very sorry and offered to move our room, but the whole vibe of the place was just awful, I would not advise anyone stay at this hotel. I understand that places are under renovation and are not always finished but you should really reflect this in your prices. We paid £28 more than what we paid for this room for a beautiful hotel just up the road. This place is just dirty !!

We actually stayed at The IRIS hotel as Elsinore was under renovation following storm damage. We were upgraded to a sea view room at The Iris, with a gorgeous huge bay window with the pier in sight. The lady at reception was lovely and friendly. Breakfast gentleman was also so mannerly and friendly. Everything was super clean, but cosy. This cost us £53 inc continental breakfast, for two. Superb value for money.

Great value for money with a continental breakfast included. The hotel is being upgradded. I have stayed in worse 3star B&Bs .We had a large modern room with a great seaview. We will be happy to stay again on our next visit later this year. Many thanks

We've stayed in more than one 3-star seafront hotel in Llandudno as we visit often to see family, and on this occasion, there being no special offers on elsewhere, we thought we'd give the Elsinore, a 2-star hotel, a try. Not expecting much, particularly after one recent comment, we arrived, and were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is on the seafront, a short walk from the town centre and pier. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and a sea view. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and the 'continental' breakfast was good, plentiful and more than we expected, particularly for the price. The general decorations are fair although some of the carpets look tired in places, but it's an old building, and at least as well-maintained as some of the 3-star hotels we've stayed in nearby. There's no bar, lift, or food except for breakfast, and a house rule banning hot food from the rooms, but there are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants (and a Wetherspoons!) within easy walking distance (for us, and we're in our 70s). I suspect this will be our 'go-to' hotel for future visits to Llandudno.

The hotel is located opposite the beach. Although in need of TLC the rooms are spacious and spotless, the shower was superb, responsive and very modern. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Breakfast choice was fresh and excellent. Highly recommended for a budget stay in Llandudno
