LARS held its 10th Anniversary Dinner at the hotel. LARS is an organisation which nurtures talented young singers from across South Wales and our guests had come from far and wide. The large function is a perfect setting for such an event. The staff and management were excellent leading up to the event and on the night again they were fantastic. The food was delicious. I really can't find a negative word to say. They did us proud and we had a fantastic and memorable evening. Chairman of LARS

Toilet seat not fitted correctly, and clearly so in room 22 - 15/4/24 Ceiling panel pushed up, near TV, end up keep looking at it Cold day and windows left open with no heating on Obscure unpleasant cider sold, not brand leader (margins over flavour) Breakfast unpleasant, bacon that broke in bits, fried egg cooked in boiling oil and crispy, sausage solid, potato cooked in deep oil, fell to bits, Tea, both cups served cold, JOKE is, menu states that "cooked fresh", "toast" was hot bread, so someone tried hard to serve this inedible meal. Left meal and toast as could not be eaten. Phots available if interested Thankfully live 2 miles away so was able to eat when I got home.

After a perfect weekend of getting married and a birthday celebration I have to say it was outstanding! A personal message to our wedding co ordinator Sheldon who excelled himself in every way and went above and beyond to make it an amazing wedding day! Food was stunning and we can give our utmost compliments to the chefs especially as I personally have allergies and they made especially sure that there was no risks taken . Our rooms were beautiful and comfy The only issue we had was down to having already Arranged a late check out for the Sunday we were told to leave our rooms at 11am instead of 1pm due to house cleaning and having a football team arriving earlier than booked , but really that had nothing to do with us and the hotel should have adhered to our request as we had booked a birthday celebration for Sunday for 1pm. just to add we had requested this months in advance ….. communication is a must within management and staff when I requested late check out I can personally say it was done immediately at desk and I witnessed that !!!!!

What excellent service from Julie and Lola in the restraunt, 5 star service and an excellent evening! Diolch ladies we will be back . This was a Xmas gift of steak and wine but we added starters and pud! Excellent food, service and ambience, I cannot fault our evening!

We attended The Diplomat for a weekend long event (Llamedos Holiday Camp, a Discworld based event) and the hotel was brilliant. We stayed at the hotel (there wasn't enough room for all those in attendance) and the room was spacious even set up as a twin. The staff were amazing and were very game with joining in. Sheldon was as always amazing and ensured everything ran smoothly especially during dinner for everyone. The food was good and there was great variety in the restaurant and on the bar menu. Can't wait to come back for the next event.

I went to a big event at The Diplomat Hotel and was so impressed by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone was amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a lovely variety - vegetarian options, fresh fruit slices as well as fruit salad. And I saw one gentleman who was just too late to make the breakfast buffet be given a plated tray in the bar area. Dinner was lovely too. It was a large event, so mass catering, which is always hard to do well but they pulled it off. Lunch was lush! Even the basics, like onion rings, were superb. Special shout out to Sheldon (#OneOfUs) and the night porter. There are lots of areas to gather in, with a real fire and comfortable seats. The spa is, as someone has mentioned in another review, a little tired. I wouldn't go there for a spa break, but as a bonus add on it was nice. And, again, the staff were kind and helpful.

Our family room was really spacious and comfortable, and as it was in the newer part of the hotel was well away from the noise coming from the function room that was experienced by our family in rooms in the main part of the hotel. Had a huge bathroom. The beds were comfortable, just not the pillows. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming and enjoyed the inclusive breakfast. Was also impressed with the evening meal.😄

The Spa in this hotel is the filthiest I've ever seen!! Mold on the shower head in the pool shower. Stinking windows, mouldy cushions on the egg chairs. Actual grime on the walls of the steam room. Changing rooms are grim!! I'd be embarrassed to gift anyone a spa experience here. Such a shame as it could be nice. No smell of chlorine in the pool so the mind boggles at the germs in there.
