Sessile Oak, Llanelli by Marston's Inns

Not really situated close by to anything to keep the kids entertained. When we booked in I had booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids but they were adamant I was only booked for 2 adults so hadn't got kids beds ready so we had to wait for bed linen and do the kids beds ourselves once I had proven to them with my online booking through app that they were wrong. The room was small, bed linen had rips and holes in the duvet covers, double bed poorly made, curtain rail was broken so could have fallen off onto the children, there were dirty marks all over the walls and splash marks that looked like coffee or worse up the walls, which my partner has taken pics of. The plus in Bath was broken off the chain so couldn't get it out once used so couldn't use shower ect or change bath water, taps didn't work properly. Very noisy throughout night and could hear everyone walking past room at all hrs. They also had mice traps in all communal areas of the hotel in full view, not even tried to hide the fact they had mice in the place which wasn't very pleasing either. We also have evidence that behind mirrors in the room that there could possible be cameras or surveillance equipment of some kind which is not acceptable and is illegal!!! For the price of the room which was over £80 for the 1 night is totally unacceptable and we will not be staying here again at any point. We have photographs to prove all of this also which will be uplaoded

Normally the same category of hotels are providing drinking water facility in rooms. But here we didn’t get. Although we are very happy with the room and staff. Giving 4.5 for overall. Thanku

Lovely and clean and good food .

I have been staying at this hotel every now and then for over 7 years now as it is close to my company head office. Firstly the good parts; the staff are an absolute credit to the company, from the check in and bar staff to the breakfast service everyone is welcoming, happy and professional- if this was a review of the staff only it would be 5 stars all the way as they are excellent. Unfortunately however, recently the quality of the evening food has dropped dramatically. I can’t put my finger on exactly when this happened but it has been very noticeable for some months now and is disappointing as the food used to be very good for a chain group company. Breakfast remains as good as it always has been with the exception of the tea urn and instant coffee replacing the previous offer of proper hot drinks made to order for you. The rooms are always immaculate and very good considering the price point. My most recent stay was also hampered by by two very drunk men having a significant argument throughout the upper floor of the hotel well into the night culminating in the police arresting at least one of them (maybe both, I didn’t go out to investigate) at around midnight/ 1am. In fairness this was not the fault of the hotel staff who from what I could hear had a really rough time trying to subdue the men before the police arrived, pleading with them to respect the other hotel guests. It was however unfortunate as I had less sleep than if I’d remained at home and driven the 200 miles in the morning. I’m summery a very passable hotel with excellent staff that has lost its way a little bit.

Went for food last week took such a long time for the food to come in excess of 45 minutes. I had ordered the fish and chips however I felt it was more batter and chips as I could rarely find any fish within it. I suppose you get what you pay for and should not complain

Hotel really neat, clean and exactly what we needed. Really good value for money The food was good pub grub and the breakfast was excellent with loads on offer. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Good value for money, clean no frills

Good value hotel, quite comfortable and the Marston restaurant is right next to it so convenient for food etc also. Didn't have any problems. Had two rooms and both had a Queen size bed plus single.

Rooms ok for the price and location. The pub itself lacked any a**osphere but did offer reasonable pub grub as expected from a large chain with a set menu. Ordering online not always straight forward or prompt. Sadly hygiene not top of the list and the wife managed to pull hair from both courses of one meal. Some issues when checking out and would advise booking direct to avoid the Marstons central booking office which seemed to have over booked rooms/breakfasts etc.
