Our bedroom was small and very dated. We thought it felt shoehorned in, but it was very clean. The bar area was lovely. Breakfast was excellent although the tea was cold. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We had organised the trip for a group of Walkers, knowing that The Hand was central and in walking distance of Offa's Dyke, the Llangollen Canal and Horseshoe Falls. It did not disappoint. We had evening meal twice, and went out on a couple of occasions. All were reasonably priced, with a good menu choice. Breakfasts were excellent, even gluten free bread avalable. Although our room was more expensive, it was worth it, as we had a lovely view from our bay window overlooking the garden and river. Excellent. The staff were very helpful and multi-tasked at times. We would certainly return.

only called in for a drink but i have fancied staying here for a while and i will book it in the future the outside seating area is brilliant on a sunny day but due to the weather we sat in the bar area inside and it was lovely we stayed for 2 drinks very reasonably price for a hotel we enjoyed our the music played low in the background and we had a little wonder around the hotel it would be a perfect location for a stay in Llangollen

Been to the hand hotel many times not stayed in there for a few years always ask for a low room as my husband has mobility issues got room 26 overlooking the river noticed they have had a refurb spottlesly clean as always my husband has a mobility scooter the lovely man on reception let us keep it in a side room plugged in lovely breakfast as usual don't think this will be the last we stay there

A group of our family had Sunday dinner at Yhe Hand, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are no vegan mains on the menu, but the staff were lovely and made me a stuffed pepper, with which I had all the traditional vegetables. One of our group had the vegetarian nut roast with vegetables, also very nice, if maybe just a little rich. The surroundings are traditional, very impressive and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, they looked after us very well. The toilets are reached on the flat, I do not recall any steps at the rear entrance we used, from the hotel's car park. Highly recommended.

Great breakfast.
We booked this hotel as there was a restaurant and as it was a Monday night we were certain of getting a meal. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed and we were reduced to a Coop sandwich. They had our email so could have informed us in advance so we could have made alternative arrangements. Shame as otherwise very good

Very welcoming easy check in by friendly staff car park big and ample spaces rooms are clean warm and well prepared we had a family 90th birthday party the food was amazing and breakfast one of the best I have had the bar and kitchen staff dealt with an irate customer in a very professional manner Nadia the hotel director was always around interacting with customers which you don’t see often I would highly recommend any one to stay at the hand I defanately will

We were really excited for Chris**as dinner, especially since it was our first time experiencing it as local residents of Llangollen. We decided to go to the Hand Hotel for the occasion. However, when our food was served, we were extremely disappointed. The prawns and melon were served in the same glass, with raw prawns still in their shells on top of the melon. The taste was absolutely awful, so none of us ate it. To make matters worse, the main course was burnt, as you can see in the pictures below. The dessert was just as bad. As a family, we went home hungry and upset, as we had nothing to eat. Unfortunately, the hotel manager was not available to address our concerns. We are determined to pursue this complaint further. We would like either a refund or for the meal to be cooked again to a proper standard.

Very traditional hotel - not spoilt by big modern ‘improvements’. Staff efficient and friendly. Fantastic location for the view and local facilities which were exceptionally good.
