We had also been there 20 years ago, and were very enthusiastic then. But now... The same carpet was still there, and it had certainly not improved. Fortunately, the room was still as spacious, but we were told at reception that it would not be cleaned during our stay due to a shortage of staff. We were able to get clean towels, but otherwise no form of apology or compensation. Breakfast was also a disaster, due to a lack of staff: every time there was something left that was not replenished, 1 coffee machine with a long line of people waiting, tables that you had to clear yourself.
