This is just a quick note to thank Arlene and the rest of the Bowfield team for making our stay at the Ben Macdui Lodge so memorable—we were made so welcome. The food and service were first-class, and the lodge was spotless. The pièce de resistance, however, was the presentation late last night of the Old-Fashioned Cocktail, which just topped off a great weekend. Thanks to everyone once again.

Over the past year my husband has been working in Scotland, visiting this hotel on a regular basis. Recently I was in a position to be able to join him. As a rural church minister, I know how important community and family are. The Bowfield is not only a first class hotel, but it is a place of welcome and connection. I never go away without feeling that I have been looked after and cared for. The staff are friendly, caring and committed, they take time to get to know you and your needs without being in any way intrusive or overbearing. On a recent visit, after the death of my father, the cleaning staff left me treats and a message of condolence, it meant so much. The hotel spa and leisure facilities, create a space for the local community to meet, make, friends and flourish, both mentally and physically. Being at this hotel is the equivalent to receiving a big hug from the world, you leave relaxed, calm and rested. Thank you to everyone involved, creating a team that are able to evoke the type of atmosphere you have, requires hard work and dedication from everyone involved, so thank you!

Beautiful hotel and family room. Very comfy bed and lovely pillows and duvet. Could do with offering free bottled water given price of room and things like disposable shower caps would be useful. Food at plumpy duck brought down overall rating but would definitely stay at hotel again

Partner and I paid for a spa afternoon tea couples package which included a 55m massage each (full body or facial & other body part, we chose full body), access to all facilities including a full length swimming pool, x2 saunas, a steam room and outdoor hot tub and an afternoon tea . This package roughly cost approx. £250 which we thought was ok considering a single massage per person can cost around £100. Facilities were a 10/10, service was 10/10 during the massage. Afternoon tea took a little long but everything was delicious and very fresh so can’t complain. Would definitely recommend a day out here as a treat!

I booked a b&b room for my boyfriend’s birthday. The room was great, lots of tea and coffee options for use with the kettle. I liked the cups and saucers too nice styled ones. Also had wee snacks in a basket etc for a small cost which we did not use but was nice to know they were there. The only slight negative would be the bathroom. I found that the plug for the bath wasn’t working right and had to be held up in order for the water to drain. The ceiling above the actual bath itself had some mould. Apart from that the room was fab. It also kept the heat in well as we were nice and cosy. After we checked in we went and used the pool. Very easy to get into. The water was pleasant. I would like to give a massive shout out to whoever cleans the changing facilities etc as one of my biggest icks is when the floor of a pool is rank and you get random things all over your feet. This floor was spotless no wet hair no wet random bits of fluff. This made walking without sandals easy. I had a booking for dinner too. We got served quite quick and had 2 cocktails which also came quite fast. My boyfriend got macaroni which was good reminded me of most Italian’s mac n cheese. I got the gnocchi which was also good and got some Parmesan for on top. We did get Cajun chips that didn’t come but they ended up coming out after asking about them. We got desserts too, boyfriend got ice cream and I had the panna cotta, both which were good.

Easter weekend get away to one of the hotel's new lodges with hot tubs. These are beautiful. Cleverly positioned looking out over the hills, you could be miles away from anywhere, rather than just outside Glasgow. The lodges are essentially "suites" for the hotel and are NOT self catering. Breakfast in the hotel is included in the stay, and we also had a spa treatment package. Nothing has been forgotten in the lodges, from coffee and tea facilities, ample fridge for refreshments, to dressing gown and flip flops for trips to the hot tub. There is also a blue tooth speaker for music to unwind to. Facilities at the hotel include large pool and gym as well as soft play area for kids. Staff in every part of the hotel are fabulous and I can't thank them enough for their care and attention during our stay. Bar and restaurant have a lovely atmosphere to relax in. I'd rather not have TV screens everywhere, but that's personal preference. Plumpy Duck restaurant has a great selection and prices are good. Breakfast is buffet style and although not the most extensive selection is hot, tasty and good. This was my second stay at Bowfield and I will definately be back- provided my excellent review doesn't make it too hard to get booked!!

From walking into the spa, you feel your shoulders drop and the staff make it their goal to ensure you feel relaxed and well looked after. All areas are immaculate and it feels luxurious. Towels robes and slippers all provided. The full body massage from Rosie was perfect, the oils were lovely and the room was cosy and comfortable. The pool was quite busy but still nice to have a dip in, the outside hydropool was beautifully relaxing, even in the pouring rain. The afternoon tea topped it all off, it was delicious. This was the best spa day out I've had to date.

I have conducted many ceremonies at the Bowfield over the years, the staff have always been amazing. March 2024 I had the honour of conducting my nephews wedding here and as a result was a guest. To say the staff go above and beyond is an understatement, from the amazing Barbra at reception who welcomes you with the biggest smile to Audrey the wedding coordinator who was there supporting the bride, groom and all guests making sure all needs were met, accommodation and food excellent. Cannot wait to go back. Thank you Tx
