Very nice hotel, kind and helpful staff, great view, good food, spa (sauna and Turkish bath). Perfect for a few days of rest. Only two disadvantages were the taste of coffee for breakfast (only instant coffee) and not very thick walls (you can hear the neighboring rooms a bit). Paid parking lot (0,80 EUR/h, from 8 am to 7 pm - in the street, 10 EUR/day - parking garage in the building opposite the hotel), but you can always park for free about 500 m from the hotel, in the upper part of town.

Nice hotel that lived up to expectations.
Excellent location in Calheta, right on a golden sand beach, with direct access from the hotel. It is ideal to have a car as it is 30 minutes from Funchal.
It's worth paying extra to have a room with a sea view
The quality and quantity of the food complies with the all-inclusive package, as do the drinks.
Daily and varied entertainment.
Good spa with heated pool, Turkish bath, sauna and cold showers.
Very pleasant outdoor pool area, with plenty of sun loungers and well designed.
Free ping pong, paid billiards (€3/hour).
Very good price/quality ratio.

Lovely hotel situated overlooking the beach and marina in Calheta. Nice reception and facilities and our room was spacious, with a kitchen and living room and very comfortable bed. The pool area is excellent with plenty of sun beds. The buffet has plenty of choice for all meals but we found the food to be a little bland and sometimes salty. Not what we would expect of a 4 star Savoy. The a’la carte restaurant however was very good. The staff were all friendly and efficient. Calheta itself has a small promenade and marina restaurants to walk out to, but like the rest of Madeira is very steep to walk up into the village. It has, probably, the only sandy beaches on the island as they bring sand from the Sahara. There are sun beds on the beach, but we assume you have to pay for these. We shall probably not return to Calheta Beach but would recommend it to others.
