We booked the 8:30 p.m. dinner sitting for New Year’s Eve. On December 28 my husband called Idlewyld to advise that I had contacted COVID, and he asked to cancel our dinner sitting. We were told that had we booked the 5 p.m. sitting we could have cancelled and received a refund, but not the 8:30 p.m. sitting. He asked about a credit in lieu of attending and that, too, was declined. Two days later, my husband became sick with COVID. We chose not to go to dinner in consideration of staff and other guests, and for our own well-being. We only wish that Idlewyld management would have been more considerate with their policies, and their clientele. One thing is for certain, we will not make dinner reservations for New Year’s Eve at Idlewyld in 2024, nor any other time going forward. $360 is a lot of money to lose for one dinner, and that has left us with a lingering bad taste.
