A lovely bijoux, high quality B&B with private entrance and parking. Location: Long Melford is a “ribbon” development about 2.5 miles long and barely 2 streets deep. The Mill is at the North end of the village, but close the Melford Hall, several good eateries and we went to the Psalm Sunday evensong at the impressive Holy Trinity Church on hill. The Rooms: There are two charming rooms recently converted to a very high standard. Each room has different attributes; the Garden room has a small private garden where breakfast can be served alfresco. The Melford room has a splendid large roll top metal bath to luxuriate in. Both rooms are made up daily, have fast WiFi and a smart TV so Netflix and other streams are available. Very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The Hosts: Clare and Paul couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. There were excellent communications before we arrived, which included detailed dining suggestions in the area. Breakfast: A tour de force. Set up for the whole day. 08:30-09:30. Paul goes out each morning to pick up fresh produce. The Area: Long Melford is packed full of Hotels, restaurants and other places eat. We didn’t visit Melford Hall, but those who did, said it was worthwhile. We went as far North as Southwold 1.5 hours. Other notable spots were Sutton Hoo, Lavenham, Aldeburgh, Framingham (The Castle on the Hill), Ickworth House and Sudbury to visit Gainsborough’s House.
