Good trip, friendly team, comfortable bar with a reasonable selection. Only point of concern was that the bed I slept in had a big dip in the middle, but it was comfortable. I did not eat in the pub, but have done previously and the food was good.

Everything was 10/10 staff, food, drinks, room but the shock came in the morning after breakfast when we had to pay just under £30 as it said on the Web site it was included with the room I find this as false advertisement, having looked at the booking and Web site there is no mention of having to pay, we used booking . Com and nothing to say we had to pay , I checked the main Web site and you have to add breakfast on at a cost but Web site said its complimentary in the write up photo included below

Slept like a log (woke-up in the fireplace) 🤪. Honestly the accommodation was exemplary, staff absolutely impressive, treated like royalty. Stayed for two nights, with evening meals and breakfast. Breakfast was to die for, huge with variety totally full English. Evening meal, best fresh PIE , so many to choose from, 2nd meal , fillet stake/ Brie cooked to perfection. Congratulations to the Chef, well above Michelin , Gro’Bonet plus. Will definitely return again in near future. Highly recommend, well done Phil and family/Staff Regards Roger/Stella

I stayed here with a small group of family and friends as we wanted something not too far from Cheltenham racecourse. Firstly, I’d like to say that the bar staff were lovely, as was the young man who was serving breakfast. The pub was ok and the food was nice. I quickly booked to stay again for March 2025, and shortly after is where my dissatisfaction lies. I booked this establishment and paid the full cost upfront. A few days later The Farmers Boy Inn contacted me to say their rates had been incorrectly advertised and they wanted a further £37.46 per room, per night. I’d booked two rooms for two nights, so I was expected to pay another £150! Outrageous really. I then had no contact from the pub, other than a message to say their ‘managing director Phil’, would contact me. A week later, I’d still not heard from them via phone or email. The management of The Farmers Boy Inn are just rampant profiteering from a race meeting that’s twenty miles away. It’s pure greed, and nothing more. They are now advertising this accommodation at over £1000, and it’s not worth half of that. Our group also put over £400 behind the bar, but clearly that isn’t enough for Phil either, and they ran out of Guinness! BEWARE YOU MIGHT END UP PAYING MORE THAN YOU THINK. Nice friendly staff, incompetent greedy management.

Room was v expensive for what it was. Had a meal there service was worst I have experienced for a very long time waited for over an hour for food. Only a pie and mash very expensive menu. They Did not have my first choice. This was supposed to be award winning I have had better pies in my local chip shop. £20 for a pie and mash is vastly overpriced. Overall really poor. Room was poor value for money as was meal and service was awful, everyone in the dining area we sat complained so says it all really. would never stay or eat here again awful all round. Ruined our romantic breakaway.

We knew we would arrive at The Farmers Boy Inn after food serving time was available as we were leaving from London after work. I rang the day before and asked if there was an option of them keeping some food for us. Sara rang me back and said that the chef finished at 8:45pm but she could make us some food when we arrived. I said that we should arrive by 9:30pm at the latest. The items that Sara said she could make were the ones that we had chosen so it seemed like it was meant to be. Not so. When I finished work at 6:00pm I saw that I had a missed call from the Farmers Boy Inn. I rang them on the journey there. The person I spoke to didn't know why I had been called earlier and confirmed that everything was ok for our stay and our dinner. I then received a phone call from Sara at 8:05pm to say she was really sorry but she had spoken to her boss that day and they had said that she could not make food for us after the chef had finished due to some licensing law. Sara was very apologetic and advised that there were plenty of takeaway places on the way to the pub. I said, that's fine we completely understood and appreciated the offer. We arrived at 9:30pm. We did not find a takeaway on the route. It had been a horrible journey in the dark, wind and rain. We did not have it in us to go out again and find a takeaway. As we were waiting at the bar to be served a plate of food came out of the kitchen. I was very surprised and confused and asked if they were serving food and was told we had just missed it. We ordered drinks and some crisps and nuts. We happened to sit next to the man who the plate of food was for. When he had finished eating a member of staff came to collect his plate and asked him if the food was ok as they had kept it for him. I couldn't help myself. I asked him, did he pre-order the food? He said yes, he had rung at 8:00pm this evening and asked if they would keep some food for him. I said well we had rung yesterday and had been told tonight that they could not provide any food for us. The man said perhaps it was because he was staying the night. I said that we were staying the night. The man said perhaps it was because he had had a difficult journey down from London. I said we had had a difficult journey down from London. I then felt bad and apologised to him for putting my irritation onto him. I was so annoyed I suggested to my husband that we go to our room and finish our drinks with some TV. The TV's don't work properly. Everything you watch pauses and you see the buffering wheel. They need a booster. The bed was very comfortable but it was cold. I was warm in bed as I took a hot water bottle, but my face was cold. I haven't experienced that since staying in a friends house during the winter of 2010 when it snowed and no one had been in the house for a few days. Getting up in the night to use the bathroom the bathroom tiles under foot were freezing cold. Imagine what that would be like during the winter. Over all it was not a gr
