Skyview Los Alamos - 21 & over Pool

I loved it here

The Skyview was amazing. So many well-considered design choices, very clean room and overall quant and charming property. We came in a bit late and wish we would have had more time to experience the place, use the pool and borrow some of the bikes they had available.

This place really wants to be cool (think Palm Springs circa 2014), but it misses the mark. Underneath the facade, it’s cheap. Cheap towels, cheap toilet paper, and worst of all, uncomfortable pillows. But my real problem is that there were three paperback books next to a malfunctioning coffee maker — coffee spilled on the books and I was charged $64 for three books. I’m livid, and any goodwill I may have had toward this hotel is gone.

Beautiful location. Very quiet and relaxing.

We love this place but the pool, which is featured as the main amenity and the reason we stayed here after a long drive, was not heated as advertised. Major bummer. Also restaurant was late opening in the morning and the heat wasn’t on so it was very cold. Awesome spot but rough around the edges.

We’ll be back.

Where do i even begin. - The food at the restaurant LOOKS good, but like everything else here, is made to be photographed, while the actual experience feels empty. - The staff is VERY sweet, but seem like they're working at 19 different places. no cohesion or communication. i'm not certain they know who is staying here or for how long, i was asked multiple times during my stay if i was ready to check out. friendliness is nice, but it’s not the same as hospitality. - I unlocked a room with my key but realized i had walked into the wrong room. so - who can get into mine? do all the keys open all the doors? not safe. - The front desk is not actually staffed 24/7, i wasn’t feeling well so called/texted and finally got a response to my room service request 2 hours later. after the restaurant was closed. - Without telling the guests, they power-washed the grounds for hours in the middle of the day - again, prioritizing how the place looks over the guest experience. i understand they have to do this, but I would have loved to know so we could have been away. the volume was well over 100 decibels. for almost 3h. relentless, hearing-damage levels. impossible to work, read, nap, any hotel-type things. - I would have checked out early - was dying to escape the entire hollow charade -- but couldn't find any other availability in the area. i will not be coming back, or recommending. - my room was fine - bright and roomy (for instagram purposes, of course!) - and housekeeping was great.
