Doubletree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown

The room was great and quite spacious. The bathroom facilities were nice, and the towels were comfortable. Toiletries like toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, but they do offer bottled shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion, which were of decent quality. I stayed for two days, and the cleaning staff did a very thorough job. I requested an electric kettle. Luggage storage is available for free on the day of check-out. All the staff members were very nice. Right across the street is a fairly large 7-Eleven with a great selection of food, frequented by many locals. However, after dark, quite a few eccentric-looking people gather outside the entrance, which felt a bit sketchy walking by alone. Not far away is Japanese Village, featuring lots of Japanese food options and shops. It is very clean and located right next to the Little Tokyo/Arts District Metro station. , Hilton is situated at the corner of Los Angeles Street and 1st Street, where the safety and cleanliness are very good. But just two blocks away past 3rd Street, it gets filthy, with a pervasive smell of urine and strange individuals wandering the streets from time to time. I wouldn't dare to go out after dark.

This was our second stay at this hotel during our West Coast trip, and the room was still very spacious. The complimentary cookies were delicious, and the hotel is conveniently located for taxis or buses to Union Station. For airport transfers, taking the FlyAway from Union Station is the most cost-effective option. There are many attractions near the hotel, making it perfect for a city walk.

The room's hygiene was absolutely terrible. There were a lot of tiny hairs on the bedding. When I talked to the front desk, they said all rooms were booked and they couldn't switch me. Housekeeping had already left by 8 PM, so they just sent up a new set of sheets, pillowcases, and duvet cover for me to change myself. The hotel is in downtown (dt), and there was a strong smell of ********* downstairs, which made me feel unsafe.

My recent stay at the Hilton Los Angeles was a well-rounded choice for a business trip. Its prime location offers convenient access to major downtown attractions, making it ideal for both leisure and business travelers visiting Los Angeles. The hotel lobby left a strong impression with its high ceilings and spacious feel. The walls are adorned with beautiful landscape scrolls depicting the four seasons, complemented by large art chandeliers resembling oil-paper umbrellas, creating an elegant ambiance with a touch of oriental aesthetics. The lobby lounge is quiet and refined, perfect for relaxing with a drink during downtime. The fitness center is definitely the highlight. It's clean and spacious, featuring professional rubber flooring and a full suite of top-tier Life-Fitness commercial equipment. The cardio area includes treadmills, spin bikes, and elliptical trainers, while the strength area boasts a multi-functional power rack. Auxiliary equipment like yoga balls and resistance bands are also readily available, fully meeting guests' daily cardio and strength training needs. It's truly excellent for those who maintain an exercise routine while traveling. The only minor drawbacks are that the hotel building shows its age in some areas, and the parking fees are quite high for a downtown hotel. However, considering its location, amenities, and service, this Hilton is a reliable and solid choice overall, and I highly recommend it for your travels.

I booked a twin room, and it was very spacious and lovely. The hotel is about a 5-6 minute walk from the subway station. If you arrive at night, I'd recommend taking a taxi to the hotel, but during the day, walking is fine and the subway is very convenient. Angel's Flight and the Grand Central Market are not far from the hotel, which is great for breakfast in the morning.

It was dark by the time we arrived at the hotel. We drove around a bit and had to ask the doorman to find the parking garage. The ramp down to the underground parking was extremely low and felt very cramped. Parking cost $80 a night, the most expensive of our entire trip. The front desk lady was quite cold, perhaps because we booked an 'accessible' room (we only understood what 'accessible' meant once we got inside). There's a Japanese restaurant across the street downstairs that's quite authentic. After dinner, around 9 PM, the lobby was full of police officers resting and drinking coffee. Despite being in the city center, the security seems pretty good.

Conveniently located near Little Tokyo. Didn't encounter as many homeless people as some reviews mentioned, so that's something to ignore. Good price, and there were quite a few Japanese guests staying there. Toothbrush and toothpaste were provided.

Facilities: Average Cleanliness: Subpar Environment: Located in the worst part of downtown LA. Not far from the notorious 'DRUG street.' The nearby streets and parks reek of urine, and you see all sorts of 'walking dead' everywhere. If you want to experience this side of America, this is the place to be. Service: I booked this hotel because the interface claimed it was 'Chinese-friendly,' but I found out that wasn't the case at all. I understand being charged $150 for an early check-in at 1 PM. However, the front desk agent expressionlessly offered me a single cookie as a welcome. I declined and pointed out that I had just seen other guests receive a small bag with cookies and two bottles of mineral water. Where were mine? She then reluctantly put two bottles of water in a bag for me. This was by far the worst hotel I booked during my entire trip to the US.
