Sheraton Universal

The hotel is very close to Universal Studios and offers a free shuttle service. My only issue was that on my first visit, I wasn't entirely clear on the shuttle's route and stops, so I didn't get on the bus smoothly. The room itself was generally normal, but the connecting room I was given had poor sound insulation.

The room was nice, just a bit small, which is typical for most hotels in the US. The shuttle bus to Universal Studios runs every 15 minutes, nothing special but gets the job done. It's a good place to stay if you're visiting Universal Studios with kids.

Everything was great, except for the parking fee which was too expensive at $65 a night, and self-parking was still $50. The room was spacious and well-decorated with a nice view from a high floor, where you could see the Universal Studios roller coasters. There was no kettle, but there was a smoking area downstairs.

The suite was very quiet. I hung the 'Do Not Disturb' sign so housekeeping wouldn't bother me while I was jet-lagged, and I got a really comfortable, long sleep. The hotel offers a shuttle to Universal Studios, which is super convenient. Unlimited water is provided, and they also give out free Starbucks. Overall, it was excellent.

This is, without a doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We checked in at around 5 PM on the first day, and they assigned us a room that was completely uncleaned. We had to go back down to the front desk to get another room. They said it had a sofa bed, but honestly, that sofa bed was so dilapidated, it wouldn't even fetch $20 on the secondhand market back home. You just sink into it when you sit down. We had to make the bed ourselves and call for bedding and a comforter. We also had to call for all amenities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers. When I knelt down to make the sofa bed, I directly hit the springs at the bottom – it hurt so much. And then, the comforter was a thin, yellowish, pilling blanket. I called again to say it was too thin, and they sent up a duvet insert, but no duvet cover. My child slept under those two flimsy things, and just looking at his sleeping position made my heart ache. The room was also located near the highway, so there was a constant barrage of loud street noise at night. Around midnight, I contacted Trip.com's customer service, and they immediately helped me arrange a room change. However, the hotel kept dragging their feet and never gave a clear answer, essentially implying there were no rooms. The next day, we went to Universal Studios. Customer service told me the hotel wanted us to go back and pack our belongings so they could give us a room of the same type with a proper bed, but they told us to hurry back. I came here to have fun, not to sit around at the hotel waiting to change rooms! What a joke! I told them I'd deal with it after we got back from the park around 3 PM. Trip.com's customer service was very proactive in negotiating with the hotel for me, which I really appreciate. When we returned, I asked again, and they gave us a room on the same side. I told them it was too noisy to sleep, so the front desk went to ask one of their female managers. They then said they could give us a room on the other side, and that there were rooms available. I just thought, if you have so many rooms available to change, why were you acting so difficult? After we moved to the new room, we suddenly remembered we had left a large amount of snacks in the previous room. But when we went back, everything was gone. I asked the front desk, and they said anything edible is thrown away as trash and they don't notify guests. Okay, that night, in the middle of the night, I received several billing notifications for $337 and $370. I had already been charged $1090 upon check-in. Immediately after, I received an email from them showing that my parking and accommodation fees were charged for 3 days, even though I only stayed for two nights and was currently sleeping in their mediocre room in the middle of the second night, utterly speechless at their actions. The next morning, I went to the front desk again to inquire about the charges. They looked at it, smirked arrogantly, and said, "Oh, a mistake! Let's redo it!" Then they gave me a new receipt, which was over $600 less than before. I'm not short on money, but paying a premium price for such a hotel experience? Are they treating us Chinese like pigs to be slaughtered for the New Year? What a waste of time! A truly garbage hotel!

Stayed here for 5 nights. It's very close to the park with a free shuttle service every day. The facilities are a bit old and it's not soundproof, but that's pretty typical for hotels in the US. Overall, it was good. Parking at the hotel is quite expensive, over $60 a day.
