VERY GOOD AND COMFORMTABLE,

I stayed at this hostel for three nights, and I want to be clear from the start that the way I was treated by a staff member named AJ on my check-out day was extremely disrespectful to a paying guest and completely unacceptable in a hospitality setting. I checked out properly and on time, fully following all stated requirements. After leaving my room, I stored my luggage as my flight was later that evening, and before leaving the property, I returned to the front desk to return a borrowed lock and complete my departure. At no point did I return to my room after check-out. While I was at the front desk returning the lock, AJ approached me and said, “You should leave. You are not supposed to be here after you check out if you don’t have a reservation.” For clarity, I had a valid reservation for the three nights of my stay, and the only reason I did not have an active reservation at that moment was because it was already my check-out day and I had checked out as required. AJ repeatedly insisted that guests must leave the property immediately after check-out; however, this policy was never explained to me at check-in, and I was never informed that briefly remaining on the property to complete departure steps or use common areas was not allowed. The way this was communicated was abrupt and command-like, with no basic courtesy, and being spoken to this way as a guest who followed all the rules was shocking and deeply upsetting. He then pointed to a printed notice on a board, but this notice is not visible to guests during check-in, as it is placed on a foldable desk panel that does not face guests when staff are seated. If this rule is strictly enforced, it should be clearly and explicitly communicated at check-in. What made this even more frustrating was that the day before, another guest from my shared room stayed in the common area long after check-out without being asked to leave, making enforcement feel inconsistent and unfair. I found this entire interaction unprofessional and deeply disrespectful, and it completely ruined the end of my stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
