Good stay, and great value for money. Central location in DTLA near cafes.

Amazing amazing I had great time, staff was nice, the pool amazing.

I enjoyed my stay at Freehand. Coffee shop and comfortable seating in the lobby (and some beautiful butterfly not so comfy seating, too). Has a very organic vibe with lots of plants, which I love. The rooftop restaurant and bar had an interesting crowd. Service was hit or miss. I'm not sure how often people actually eat there, but the ceviche was very good, and I'm a bit of a picky eater.

The room had issues the light was broke the phone didn't work the TV wouldn't change channels I went to front desk he said they'll be right up I waited 2 hours nobody came I had to go back down only to find out he never put in the maintenance request the first time the second time the maintenance did come in a timely manner

We gave our car to the valet, and the valet hit and scratched it. He also claimed he didn’t do anything. Since the car was a rental, we had to pay $400, and nothing was done about it.

Absolutely terrible. Yes the roof top and lobby look nice but don’t be fooled. First room I was put with 60+ year old men who had 3 suitcases each and something disturbing under their blanket. Woke up to this old man staring at me and leaning over my bed. He was wearing a hat with plastic still on. Requested to be moved but they said they were full. I took the chance and stayed in the same room again but my friend shared the same bed rather than us being in seperate. Again, he was in and out every 2 hours and seemed dodgy. My friend woke up to feet near her bed, leant forward and he pretends to be asleep on the bed next to her. Moved rooms finally and not long after returning to my new room I had security banging the door and showing us footage of a man on cctv asking if we had seen him. He was sat in the corner of my room. I assumed he was staying in the room as he had a key. Turns out he had stolen a load of stuff from our room, including all of the girls bags in the bunk near me. He was not a guest. This whole experience has terrified me and I strongly suggest never staying here. My friends checked out early and so I was left by myself which ruined my whole experience. Because I had spent money on this hostel I couldn’t afford to pay for new accomodation. Didn’t even get anything to say sorry or offered any money back to get new accom
