Good resort with the standard amenities and a great breakfast selection

Great place but no wi fi other than reception and the safe didnt work in the room. The cleaning lady also came a few days at 9am .. a sign for the door would be useful. Quiet area, hardly anybody spoke English but we muddled through. A very relaxing trip with a few long walks into Santa cruz. Nice clean apartments but I won't be returning.. no music or atmosphere but pleasant enough.

We stayed for 11 nights. This is a lovely place, spotlessly clean with excellent staff. We had a couple of issues with our apartment (the water heater was tripping the electric and the basin in the bathroom leaked). Both issues were resolved very quickly and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Breakfast was good and we were able to get a table without having to wait. There were always Sun loungers available and the lifeguard was very helpful if you needed an umbrella moving. There is a bus stop 100 yards away - be aware that the buses to the airport and to Santa Cruz both use the same stop on the same side of the road. Other than breakfast we didn’t eat in the hotel but there are restaurants within 2 minutes walking distance. If you are interested in space and the planets, there is a hidden gem just 2 minutes walk from the hotel - Ojos al Cielo ( a space museum). Take the guided tour for 16 euros each, it’s well worth it. I would recommend these apartments very highly. The reception staff, cleaners, waiters and maintenance staff are all fantastic.

This was our first visit to La Palma and we didn't know much about the area. In June, the area is quite quiet and several of the nearby restaurants were closed so there wasn't a lot of choice for eating out and even more limited for having drinks out, it's not the place to go for partying but lovely for a relaxing break. The coastline nearby is dramatic and rocky and it's about 10 minutes walk to the black sand beach, a bit more via the lovely coastal path. The rooms are spread around the lovely pool, some more private than the others. We had upgraded to a sea view room which was great and with a balcony that only got the sun first thing in the morning. There was some noise on the street side from the Italian restaurant opposite but this did not go on late, and it was very quite during the night, even with the window open. The kitchen facilities were a little limited with no oven, but fine for preparing lunch and snacks. A small hairdryer is in the bathroom and we loved the glow in the dark tiles in the shower! Our shower flooded one evening which I reported to reception and someone was there within 10 minutes to quickly unblock it. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful, and I appreciated the lady on reception letting me practice my Spanish and speaking slowly to me so that I could follow. Email communication before our stay was also very good. The rooms are cleaned every day except Sunday to a very high standard and the pool area and gardens are immaculate and beautiful. Pool towels are provided free of charge, you are given a card to exchange for a towel from the lifeguard. The pool is relaxing and quiet, no music or entertainment, which seemed appropriate for the type of guests and suited us well. Breakfast was buffet style with very efficient and cheerful staff clearing up and replenishing items. There were very few English guests, mostly German or Spanish, so the food reflects that, but there is plenty of choice for most tastes, with fresh fruit, pastries, great bread as well as cooked items and a fresh juice of the day. We were able to sit out on the terrace for breakfast most days which had a lovely sea view. We didn't eat dinner, but 14 euros sounded very reasonable. There is no separate bar in the complex. The only thing that I would suggest could be improved is that there are no facilities to shower and change if you have a late flight home after checking out at 12. We had to change in the toilets in reception and spread our stuff out in reception to put in our cases which wasn't ideal. Late check out wasn't available but a courtesy room of some sort would be good. We really enjoyed our stay at La Caleta and hope to return.

Guys , staff great , lovely very,very quiet area ..no toaster,no kettle,no iron .. flat screen TV waste of time not digital or satellite. Bars etc nearby not very pleasant unless your Spanish. Suitable and full of the older ones..no entertainment day or night ..crazy golf ⛳️ a miss too.. cheap mind as a base ..avoid star gazing trip expensive and a wasted day/night

Good location, nice clean complex , staff very friendly and cleaning staff excellent.. just apartments are very tired and in need of updating, kitchen facilities very poor, not really catering for a self catering holiday, although restaurant on complex and plenty of cafes and restaurants near by .. good bus service to Santa Cruz and airport near complex .. walking around the area is nice, with pathways along the coast, all the way to Santa Cruz
